现行新课标初中英语课本教材中,每册都有十二个单元,每单元都有一个主旨鲜明的主题、语法重点分五个部分供教师根据教学的进度、学生实际做出自己的选择。
本单元的主要内容是表达“频率”。section a通过“谈论做运动的频率”,通过听力、对话练习、小调查等方式帮助学生掌握如何询问及表达有关频率的内容(做运动的频率,日常活动的频率,学习的频率等);section b通过讨论饮食及其它生活方式,通过听力、阅读、做调查等方式,帮助学生掌握如何用频度副词综合表达信息;self check部分通过填空帮助学生复习所学词汇,通过开放式的写作帮助学生巩固对频度副词的掌握。
这一单元的重点在于“表达频率”。

【单元教学安排】
本单元用五课时教学

【单元目标】
语言目标:描述时间频度的词汇及开展周末活动的调查。
能力目标:
听:能听懂谈论生活习惯、学习习惯和饮食习惯的对话材料。
说:能谈论生活习惯、学习习惯和饮食习惯。
读:能读懂介绍个人生活习惯的文章。
写:能写出section a和section b中的重点单词和重点句型,并能够描述自己的生活习惯。
情感目标:通过开展周末活动调查问卷,引导学生正确处理好学习和娱乐之间的关系。
跨学科学习:通过谈论谁的饮食习惯更健康,引导学生了解什么样的饮食习惯,才能保持健康的体质。

教学反思
虽然八年级学生对英语学习已具备了情感储备,对英语学习不再陌生,为学习本单元提供了主观条件,具有了一定的语言基础;对一般现在时、一般现在时的部分时间状语在七年级就已掌握,为本单元学习和教学目标实现搭好了平台。但是,学生经过暑假的休息,久违了英语课堂,一开始肯定会有些不适应。如注意力不集中、思维不活跃、课堂纪律较难控制等。根据以往的教训,此时花再多的时间煽激情、讲纪律也于事无补,那样反而会使课堂更加枯燥乏味,让学生打不起精神,降低学习兴趣。如果按常规上新课——教生词、记短语、操练句型、讲析语法,有可能出现因课堂内容多、知识难度与思维跨度大,而导致大多数学生感到紧张、压抑,一时难以接受新知识,最终产生厌学情绪。再者,如果不能很好的调动学生的学习积极性,他们就无法做到积极主动学习,随之,课堂将会死气沉沉,导致整节课以失败而告终。这样的教学肯定不能实现教学目标、达到“第一堂课”的教学愿望!
上好一堂课的前提是要求我们教师认真备好课,做到“三备”:备教材(了解课标、钻研教材),备教法(多法结合),备学生(方方面面,整体特点、个体差异)。但在新课程改革的今天,我们偶尔也会遇上这样的困惑:明明是本着先进教学理念、教学方法扎扎实实地备好了一堂课,结果一上,却走了调,收效甚微。究其原因,教师按课前设计的程序,按部就班,刻意将学生纳入自己既定的理想的教学轨道,却忽视了学生的个性和思维的发展(这是一个不定的变数);忽视了教学过程的生成性特点。这样无异于一种新型的填鸭式教学。其教学目标似乎可望实现,但是教学过程却得不到优化,更谈不上实现课堂教学的创新,教师教育智慧的真正体现。
学会英语,不但多了一对耳朵,一双眼睛,和一条舌头,甚至是多了一个头脑!因为语言是人类思维的工具,认识世界的工具,掌握一种语言也即掌握了一种观察和认识世界的方法和习惯。从事多年初中英语教学工作的我,结合日常工作中的点点滴滴,总结以下几点教学反思:
  一、初中英语教师应有情感意识
  从教育心理学的角度看,学习过程中影响学习效果的最大因素之一是学习者的情感控制。近几十年来,人们越来越意识到在英语学习过程中,学习者的情感因素,包括动机和态度等对英语学习的效果乃至成败起到相当大的作用。如何将素质教育理论引入外语教学是当前外语教学战线的一大课题。英语学习成功的因素中,除了智力因素外,更重要的是那些非智力因素的作用。
  二、初中英语教师应有文化意识
  在中学英语的教学中,因为课文的简单易懂,所含的信息量少的缘故,很多中学英语教师忽视了文化对语言的影响,而导致了一些语言情景的不真实,和虚假的语言的产生。
  跨文化交际意识的培养,是英语教学的一个重要组成部分。词汇是文化信息的主要浓缩。对英语词汇的准确理解,和对语言环境的认识和创设和把握,需要对文化的比较深刻的理解。外族文化知识的获得,主要是通过对该族文化历史的研究和学习,通过对该族语言文学作品的研读,通过对该族文化生活习惯、生活方式的了解。而读原版英语经典著作的学习,是达到这三条的捷径。
  三、初中英语教师应有发展意识
  一向以来,人们中学英语教师的语言知识能力要求不高,认为中学英语简单,不需要太好的语言功底,只要有良好的教学技能就可以了。其实时代在进步,社会在发展,同样英语作为人们最广泛的交际用语之一,更是随着高科技的迅猛发展而日新月异地变化着。如果我们的英语教师故步自封,不求进取,那么不但自己的语言知识很快陈旧落伍,误人子弟,而且会被时代所淘汰。
  “Changing English in the changing world”。现代英语的变化,特别是口语方面的变化可从以下几个方面体现出来:
  1、随着人们生活节奏的不断加快,更因为国际互联网的形成,人们之间的交际变得越来越简捷。说话简单快捷,是现代人生活的一大特征。现代英语在这方面的变化表现为“一字多用”。
  2、随着现代科学技术的迅猛发展,现代英语词汇急剧增加,并且我们发现,现代英语词汇有相当一部分是取得新义的旧词,如,“input”(输入电子计算机的数据),“store”(电子计算机的储存器),“drive”(计算机驱动器)等。
  3、英国英语和美国英语之间的距离越来越小。也许是美国对世界政治、经济影响日益强大的原因,美国英语的影响也越来越大,特别是对青少年的影响越来越大,他们以使用美语和发美国音为时髦。
  4、口语不断侵入书面语。学过英语的人都知道,英语有正式、非正式、书面语,口语,方言,俚语之分,然而当今它们之间相互渗透的现象越来越普遍。
  我们的英语教师不跟上时代的步伐,不坚持不断地学习和接受新事物,不了解现代英语发展的现状和趋势,那么,我们所教出来的学生一旦离开学校走向社会,他们会发现他们所学的英语是多么bookish(书呆子气)。而教师自己则可能甚至连小学生们所津津乐道的一些常用语也可能会出现理解性的错误。

教学设计
一、教学目标:
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下单词:percent,online, television,although, body,such as, mind,together, die, writer

2. 情感态度价值观目标:
了解其他学生们的日常生活情况,让学生们知道应如何安排自己的日常生活,向其他有良好生活习惯的人们学习,做一个有良好习惯的人。
二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点:
1) 掌握本课时出现的生词及表达方式。
2) 进行听力训练,提高综合听说能力。
3)阅读短文,获得相关信息,提高学生们的综合阅读能力。

三、教学过程
Ⅰ. Warming- up and revision
1. Daily greeting.
2. Check the homework. Let some Ss report what he/she does on weekends.
Ⅱ. Presentation
1. T: Show some pictures of food or drink on the big screen. Ss read the words then discuss they are healthy or unhealthy.
2. Work on 1a. Read the words with the pictures then match the words with the pictures.
Ⅲ. Find
1. Show a list of words of food and drinks on the big screen. Then list them into “healthy” or “unhealthy”
2. Check the answer with the Ss.
3. Ask and answer questions about the pictures on 1a. Make a model to the Ss:
T: How often do you drink milk, S1?
S1: I drink milk every day.
T: Do you like it?
S1: No, but my mother wants me to drink it. She says it’s good for my health.
Ⅳ. Listening
Work on 1c:
1. Tell Ss that a reporter is interviewing Bill and Tina what their eating habits are. Listen to the recording and find the answer to these two questions: Is Bill healthy? Is Tina healthy? Listen and find the answers to the questions.
3. T: Now let's work on 1d. First, let one student read the sentences and try to know the meaning of the sentences.
4. Play the first time, Ss just listen. Play the tape for the second time for the Ss to listen and find the answers.
5. Check the answers:
6. 听力指导:学生先要抓住这六个问题的意思。带着这六个问题去对话。在听的时候,应重点将与这六个问题相关的回答听清,其他作为非重点内容。
