In groups, ask a student to describe his or her classmate.Use only words and sentence patterns from this unit. For example, She's short and thin. She has curly hair. (The other students listen to him or her carefully and guess who it is.)
Give a sample description of someone in the class and ask the class to guess who you are describing.
Ask some students to describe a person while their classmates guess who it is.
Step3 Who draws best? (Section B/ 4)
This activity provides listening and speaking practice using the target language.
1.Ask each student to draw a picture without letting ,anyone else see it.
2.Have students get into groups of four. Tell the students in each group to give themselves numbers from 1 to 4.
3.Ask the other three students in each group to listen to the description and draw the person. You may wish to have them listen to the description several times.
4.Ask each group to swap its pictures with another group. That group votes to decide which of the three copies looks most like the original picture. The student who drew that copy is the winner.

Choose a picture you draw and write the description on the exercise books.

What does he look like? 课标要求
本单元的核心话题是谈论人的外表形象, 教材内容围绕着描述人的外貌特点展开,让学生学会运用描述性的短语和句型谈论人的身高、体重、发型、面部特征及着装特点。并且通过对本单元的学习,学生能掌握 what 引导的特殊疑问句的问答,以及选择疑问句的问答。通过掌握教材内容中的听、说、读、写进而学会在现实生活中对于用英语谈论他人的外貌特征进行听、说、读、写。
语音教学:让学生进行模仿操练;
词汇教学:采取情景介绍或演示对比的方式进行教学,让学生在情境中操练、理解含义.并学会运用;
口语教学:采取 Pair work 问答式的口语交际活动或游戏等小组活动互相操练;
听力教学:采取图文配对和回答问题的方式;
阅读教学:让学生带着任务进行阅读;
写作教学:以填词、回答问题、写简单的短文为主;

这一堂课是一节复习课,是一节关于人物外貌的描述课,所以我用约四分钟的时间给学生展示本节课的重点知识,并且一开始就展示了一句英语谚语,目的在于活跃气氛,所以与此课人物外貌相关连,这样引入就能自然过渡到本节课的内容。
其次,温故而知新。所以,我在上复习课时先提供复习中会遇到的重点知识和语法,让学生提前感知,这样他们在做题时就会感到容易,并对新习题感兴趣。
我们的学生由于他们的年龄特征所定,对形象的事物特别感兴趣,尤其对新人更是喜欢。那么就这个特点,我采用的人物图片是经过精挑细选的。就本课的教学内容它主要是要求描述人物的发型与身材,所以选图时,就得相当有代表性。比如:高个——姚明;矮个——潘长江;让学生一看就能明白,并且能够说出不同的句子来表达,之后就是句型复习,描述自己喜欢的明星。
本单元要求学生能描述他人的外貌。这就要求学生应具备听、说、写能力。怎样把这样的能力融入一体,并且学生能很好的接受,同时还能锻炼写的能力呢?通过猜同学,让学生们关注身边同学的特点,用学会的语言来描述自己同伴的长相,更贴近生活实际,给学生的学习带来更多的乐趣。这样也更能给学生们长久的记忆。
在课堂上我鼓励学生大胆的做英语复习,积极评价他们的表现,对他们复习过程中的失误和错误采取宽容的态度,积极肯定地评价学生的表现。
复习的设计从内容上说是很有趣味的,学生的激情也充分的调动了起来。
在平常的教学中,学生的胆量是比较大的,他们举手发言的激情是有的。但是对于知识的掌握似乎只是停留在表象上,没有深入地思考,因此我想在今后的教学中我应该在注意培养学生大胆开放的性格的同时,让学生积极动脑思考,加强对知识的归纳,巩固和检查。
