Teaching steps:
Step 1 Lead-in
Watch a video on vacation tour.
Give a brief introduction before watching: It's a teacher's tour to Australia; try to find the activities she did.
Ask Ss to talk about what the teacher did in Australia.
Step 2 Description
Describe how students spend their vacation by pictures imagination is allowed. And the following must be included:
Where did they go?
What did they do?
How was the vacation?
How was the weather like there?
Sample report:
Mary went a bus trip in Beijing. She went past mountains and lakes. It was sunny and warm. She was enjoying her trip. It was a relaxing…
Step 3 Listen to the tape
Before listening , make the students read the listening material with the following questions in 1c.
Then discuss in groups:

Where did Lisa go on vacation?
Did she do anything specialthere ?
Did Lisa like her vacation? At last check answers together.
Step 4 Practice
Make up conversation according the above information in 1c,to finish the target 1d.Then let the students write an article about Lisa”s trip and choose the best one to show in front of all the students. eg:
Lisa is my best friend .Last year she went to Hong Kong with her family. There they went to a fun park . She thinks it was very exciting. And she went shopping with her family .Although some things were very expensive, she still bought gifts for her best friends. And people there were really friendly. The food there was also delicious .They had a good time. Everything was excellent, too.

教学反思:
本节课是围绕“holidays and vacations”这话题,开展教学活动,学习一般过去时的表达法:
1:在设计上思路上以听说结合为主,由浅入深,引领学生一步步,渐渐进入每个任务,并将单词教学与句型相结合,加深学生的理解与掌握,让学生非常自然的领会本课的知识点。
2:在整个教学过程中,采用了创设情境,小组比赛活动,交际互动等方法,强调学生在交际中,理解运用本课的语言功能项目,并利用多媒体教学手段,激发学生的兴趣,模拟生活的情景,让学生在听、说、读、写中得到全面锻炼,从而达到快乐学习英语的目的。
3:这节课的教学内容是听说训练为主,让学生练习听力的同时,创造机会让学生去说,把听和说有效地结合起来,吸引学生的注意力,并且自然地过渡打要学习的句型,展示了一些照片和视频后,让他们回答问题,接着设计了一个guessing game,目的是强化其中的描述性形容词。
4:通过guessing game的形式巩固句型,并让学生来做动作,学生来提问,学生来回答,这种形式很生动、有趣、他们很喜欢。
5:在实施用英语去了解生活和解决生活中的事情,让学生多说时,设计了一个调查活动,让他们用学到的知识去调查同学们的五一节过得怎样,贴近学生生活实际。
教材分析
本节内容继续学习和运用一般过去时并且使学生掌握有关评价事物的形容词去Talk about holidays, vacations and past events. 让学生在交际活动中学会如何正确用英语谈论自己及他人过去的事情及感受,重在培养学生的语言运用能力、实践能力、合作能力及创新意识。
在话题上,Section B由对假期活动的询问及叙述转向描述及谈论度假的感受;在语言上,除进一步综合训练、巩固Section A所学重点语言内容外,学习正确、得体地运用相关形容词描绘假期活动,表达自己的感受成为这一部分的一项重要任务;在语言上,则由听、说转向综合性地听、读、写的训练。因此,此部分的重点则落在了听说及听力的技巧处理上,及学生对整节内容的掌握上。难点:让学生写出内容丰富、结构完整的假期感受文段上。
