本单元的核心话题是谈论人的外表形象(look), 教材内容围绕着描述人的外貌特点展开,让学生学会谈论人的身高、体重、发型、面部特征及着装特点,因此 ‘talking about someone’s look’ 是教学重点。通过对本单元的学习,学生能掌握本单元出现的描述人物外观的词组及句型。

学生在七年级上册已经学过关于“What does he like?”这一特殊疑问句式,具有了学习本单元知识的认知前提,能自然地与本单元话题进行衔接。谈论人的外表形象是人们日常生活中遇到的话题。故学生喜于用英语表达此类知识。

1、语言知识目标 识记并熟练运用下列单词和句型

2.语言技能目标
1)、能熟练的用be、have、has描述人物外表特点。
2)、能概括人物的外貌特征并根据人物特征推理出某一人物。
3)、能掌握A部分出现的表示人外观的词组及句型,并能结合实际生活灵活运用这些词组及句型描述别人的外表,提高口头表达能力。
过程与方法
学生通过自我展示、Pairwork 及Groupwork等活动方式,交换对不同人物的描述及看法,培养学生与人交往和沟通的能力。

通过发型、身高、体重三方面来描述自己的长相,既复习了上节课所学语言,又为本节课的学习做好了铺垫。
通过对教材的预习,学生已经初步会运用be、have描述人物外貌,以小组内句子接龙的形式,以第三人称从三方面描述人物外貌,再次巩固本节课的目标语言。
出示一张身高、体型不同的三个人物的图片,学生以Pairwork的形式练习选择疑问句,为任务三的展示积累短语及句型。
Step 3 Funny looks
Show a picture of Brush, and tell them Bush has different looks. Can you describe Bush’s new looks ?

通过鼠标的操纵,同一个人物变换不同的形象,同一个句型可以操练几个句子。练习不但不单调,人物的不断变化也引起了学生的兴趣,使课堂活动一直在一个轻松、欢快的气氛中进行。

让学生运用所学语言谈论自己最喜爱的明星,一方面锻炼了学生的语言组织能力和口头表达能力,另一方面这也是学生感兴趣的一个话题,学生都乐于参加。
Step7 Guessing game
Activity 4
1. T: Now, let’s play a guessing game. Please guess who he/she is.
在屏幕上逐条出示某个人物的信息,在出示的过程中让学生猜是谁。只要学生猜对就出示该人照片,猜不对就继续出示信息,直到学生猜对为止。最后出示的是教师的信息.

2. T: Let’s go on guessing. I’ll ask one student to come to the front and describe someone in our class. The others guess who he/she is.
在学生能够运用语言之后,通过这样一个轻松的猜谜活动,让学生对本单元的目标语言进行重现以达到复习、巩固的作用。同时猜的是明星,学生比较感兴趣。特别是最后猜的是老师本人,这是学生没有想到的。在信息不断出示的过程中,学生一次又一次的猜测,不但复习了所学的句型,也激起了他们的好奇心。
在猜完明星之后再猜班里的同学,把语言活动应用于实际,课堂活动更加真实、自然。

拓展提高Model show
T: Do you like model show? Let’s watch a video about model show.
T: Now, let’s do a model show. Please work in groups of six. Choose one as the model, another as the reporter, Others make up the model and help describe the model’s new look.
小组活动。把全班分为若干个小组,每个小组选出一人当模特,一人当解说员,其他人给模特化妆并帮解说员准备解说词,描述模特的新形象

模特展示,解说员现场报告,描述模特的新形象。
在模特表演前让学生看一段录像,有一个感性的认识,使学生兴奋起来,有利于后面的模特表演。
这个环节看似有点“乱”,就是在“乱”的过程中,学生敢说、敢做、敢表达。通过小组活动,培养了学生的互助、合作意识和审美观。
这个环节与本节课紧紧相扣,把所学语言运用于实际,达到了综合运用语言的目的。同时,通过学生参与活动,把本堂课推向了一个新的高潮。

本部分在Section A所学知识的基础上,仍旧围绕外貌描述展开活动,并进一步拓展话题内容。1a-1b的看图造句活动,目的是为了让学生学会从其他角度(头发、脸型、五官、眼镜、胡子、职业等)描述人物外貌。1d-1c提供了更为丰富的语境,教材通过听取信息的任务引导学生关注和区分描述人物外貌的两个不同句型:sb. is ... 和 sb. has. ... , 同时在听力和1e的口语活动中增加了语言的输入和输出训练,穿插巩固前面所学的描述外貌的词汇,让学生能在相应的语境中综合运用核心句型和重点词汇,达到初步的语言输出。

By studying in a happy and pleasant class atmosphere and with some other aids of teaching, we can train our students to get as many chances as possible to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills so that students will have good abilities of communication in the future.
