Millions of people pass through the gates of the Disney parks in California, Florida and Japan each year. What makes these places an almost universal attraction? What makes foreign kings and queens and other important people want to visit these Disney parks?Well, one reason is the way to serve their “guests’. All new employees, from vice-presidents to part-time workers, begin their employment by attending Disney University and taking “Traditions I”. Here, they learn about the company's history, how it is managed and why it is successful. They are shown how each department relates to the whole. All employees are shown how their part is important in making the park a success. After passing “Traditions I”, the employees go on to more specialized training for their specific jobs. No detail is missed. A simple job like taking tickets requires eight-hour days of training. When one ticket taker was asked why it took so much training for such a simple, ordinary job, he replied, “What happens if someone wants to know where the rest rooms are, when the parade starts or what bus to take back to the campgrounds? … We need to know the answers or where to get them quickly. Our constant aim is to help our guests enjoy themselves.” Even Disney’s managers get involved in the daily management of the park. Every year, the managers leave their desks and business suits and put on special service clothes. For a full week, the bosses sell hot dogs or ice cream, take tickets or drive the monorail, and take up any of the 100 jobs that make the park come alive. The managers agree that this week helps them to see the company’s goals more clearly. All these efforts to serve the public well have made Walt Disney famous. Disney is considered by many as the best mass service provider in America or the world.

Professor Martin’s report says that children who attend a number of schools, because their parents have to move around the country, probably make slow progress in their studies. There are also signs, says Professor Martin, that an unusually large number of such children are mentally affected.
The professor says “It’s true, my personal feeling is that children should stay in one school. Our feelings are based on research and not on any personal feelings that I or many assistants may have on the subject.”
Captain Thomas James, an army lectures for the past 20 years and himself a father of two, said, “I’ve never heard such rubbish. Taking me for example, no harm is done to the education of my children who change school regularly--- if they keep to the same system, as in our Army school. In my experience--- and I’ve known quite a few of them--- Army children are as well-adjusted (适应) as any others, if not more so. What the professor doesn’t appear to appreciate is the fact that in such situations children will adapt (适应) much better than grown-ups. ”
When this was put to Professor Martin, he said that at no time has his team suggested that all such children were backward or mentally affected in some way, but simply that in their experience there was a clear tendency (倾向).
“Our findings show that while the very bright child can deal with regular changes without harming his or her general progress in studies, the majority (大多数) of children suffer from constantly (不断地) having to enter a new learning situation.”

B. go to ordinary state schools
C. can get used to the Army school education
D. discuss their education regularly with their father
74. About children and grown-ups, Captain James says that children _____________.

Nowadays, studying abroad gains popularity in China. Many rich parents would rather send their children abroad to receive education than let them be educated in China.
As every coin has two sides, studying abroad is not an exception. There are advantages for people to attend school abroad. In the first place, he can use the foreign language in his daily life so that his ability in the second language may be greatly improved, as it is obvious that there is no better chance to improve second-language than living in the country where it is spoken. While studying in a foreign country, he will most likely meet many others from overseas and it is possible to make friends from all over the world. This is not only exciting on the social level, but could lead to important overseas contacts in his career as well. He can get familiar with the latest knowledge in science and make use of the first-rate facilities available. In this way, there is every chance that he is able to widen his horizon (眼界) and broaden his mind.
Of course, attending schools abroad may bring about a series of problems. The most serious problem is language barrier (障碍). Most of the students who go abroad don’t have enough skills in the language spoken there. As a result, on arriving there, they will find it difficult to understand what the teachers say. Besides, for lack of knowledge of the customs of the local people, they may constantly run into trouble in dealing with various situations.
Therefore, when given an opportunity to attend a school abroad, one must consider both sides of the factors carefully before making up his mind.

答案
71. 选A。该题为推理题。由文章第一自然段的第一句“Professor Martin’s report says that children who attend a number of schools, because their parents have to move around the country, probably make slow progress in their studies.”
由文章第三自然段的最后一句“What the professor doesn’t appear to appreciate is the fact that in such situations children will adapt(适应)much better than grown-ups.”可知,James上校认为孩子们比成年人更容易适应一切。因此C为正确答案。
75. 选B。该题为推理题。由文章最后一句“the majority(大多数) of children suffer from constantly(不断地) having to enter a new learning situation.”告诉我们,大多数的孩子遭受经常变更学习环境之苦。选项B中的短语quite a few也表示“相当多的”。因此正确答案为B项。
