Lesson 1
Teaching aims :
1.Learn eight words :hungry, thirsty, grandmother, short, grandfather, tall, ruler, stapler
2.Learn sentences:Are you hungry ? Yes, I am. Who’s she ?She’s my grandmother .What’s that ?It’s a stapler.
Teaching key :
Learn eight words :hungry, thirsty, grandmother, short, grandfather, tall, ruler, stapler
Teaching difficult:
Learn sentences:Are you hungry ? Yes, I am. Who’s she ?She’s my grandmother .What’s that ?It’s a stapler.
Materials:
Picture Cards 1-8, chalk / markers.
Teaching process:
Step1:Warming up
Sing an English song .(ABC song)
Step2:Vocabulary
1. Getting ready:
(1)Hold up the flash cards and ask. T:I’m hungry. Repeat. (Show Ss Picture Card1hungry.) Students read the word one by one.
(2)Hold up the other picture and ask. T:I’m thirsty. Repeat. (Show Ss Picture Card 2thirsty.) Read the word louder and louder
(3)Continue with the other Picture Cards. Say the words and have Ss repeat.
(4)Read the words after the teacher. Then, students write the words and memory them.
2. Using the book:
(1)T:Listen to the tape and repeat .Point to each picture as you say it.
(2)Play the tape and have Ss repeat each word.
(3)Point to the picture of stapler .T:Stapler. [Ss:Stapler.]
(4)Point to the other pictures in repeat .Say the words one by one.
Step3 : Learn sentences (Target)
1. Getting ready
(1) Point to the door.
(2) T: What’s that [Ss: It’s a door.]
(3) T: Are you happy (Point to one student.)[S1: Yes, I am.]
(4) Elicit responses from several Ss.
(5) T: Who’s he (Point to one student then asks another student to answer.)[S2: He’s my friend. /He’s a student.]
(6) T: Listen to the tape and repeat.
(7) Have Ss look at the pictures.
(8) Play the tape and pause after each sentence for Ss to repeat.
(9) Read Target together and memory.
(10)Copy Target.
(11)Act Target.
Step4: Practice

Finish the exercise. (Listen and circle P5)
