Materials:
Markers, paper, scissors, blindfolds, paper strips.
Teaching process:
Step 1: Warming up
Divide class into two teams. One team sings the Gogo part and the other team is Bing. (P6)
Step 2:Activity1 (Look, read and write.)
1. T: Look at the pictures .I says the word and you point to the picture.
2. Say the words in random order .Circulate around the room to check where Ss are pointing.
3. T: Listen, repeat and point to the sentences.
4. Read the sentences in random order. Circulate around the room to check where Ss are pointing.
5. T: Listen. “He’s her grandfather.” Point to the picture. What number is it [Ss: One.]
6. Have Ss look, read and write the numbers in the appropriate boxes.
7. Have Ss exchange books to check each other’s work.
Step3: Activity 2(Listen and touch.)
1. T: I will say a word or a sentence .You touch the picture.
2. T calls out words or sentences, e.g. It’s six o’clock. Ss touch the corresponding picture.
3. Once Ss are familiar with the game, put Ss into groups of three. One student is the announcer and the other two will play against one another using one book. They compete to see who can touch the picture first.
4. Have Ss change roles after a few minutes.
5. Continue until all items have been called out.
Step 4: Sounds and words (Listen, point and say)
1. Write cooks, plays and washes on the board and underline the ending sounds.
2. T: Let’s practice these sounds. Look at my mouth and repeat.
Play the tape and have Ss point to each word as the tape says it.
3. T: Let’s listen again and this time, repeat.
4. Have Ss repeat after the tape.
5. Point to the pictures at random and have Ss said the words.
6. Help Ss if they have difficulty making the sounds /s/,/z/and /iz/.
Step 5:Listen and say.
1. Have Ss look at the pictures.
2. Say the words in random order.
3. Ss touch the corresponding picture on the page.
4. T: Let’s listen to the tape.
5. Pause the tape after the first sentence.
6. T: He washes the cat. Repeat. [Ss: He washes the cat.]Point to the picture.
7. Ss point to each picture as they repeat the words.
8. Continue with the rest.
Step 6: Homework
1. Reading.
2. Copy the words.
Writing on the blackboard:
1. Hi, Gogo!
