Target:
Words: Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday week
Patterns: What day is it today It’s ……

Difficult Points: Thursday’s sound
Materials: Picture cards, paper, a ball.
Teaching procedure:
Step1. Warming up
T: today is ….. Tomorrow is …… What day is it today Today I will tell you …...
Step2: Presentation
1. Put picture cards 9-16 up on the board
2. T: point to Sunday .It’s Sunday .repeat
3. T: Continue with each the other days of the week.
4. T: All the days together make one week.
Using the book
1. Open your books to page 10.listen to the tape and have Ss repeat each day of the week.
2. For the word week .have students circle a week on the calendar in the picture.
3. T: Is it Wednesday Point to Saturday
4. Model if necessary.
5. Point to other days of the week and ask similar question.
Step3 Drilling
1. Practice each other with the calendar.
2. Repeat after the teacher.
Step4 Practice
1. Display a large calendar and point to carious days.
2. Talk about birthdays fall on this year.
3. One group sings the questions and the other group sings the responses.
Step 5 Conclusion
Let’s read the questions and have several pairs share their answers with the class.
