Teaching process:
Step 1 ：Warming up
Sing a song “Is this a dog ”
Step 2 ：Revise sentences
What’s his name His name’s Ben.
Invite seven Ss to the front of the class. Tell the remainder of the class to put their heads down so they can’t see. Ss put their thumbs up in the air. The seven Ss walk around the class and push down some students’ the thumbs, and walk back to the front, those whose thumbs were pushed down try to guess who did it. T asks these Ss Who did it What’s his /her name Ss make their guesses of who did it by saying His /her name is (S1’s name). Each student who guesses correctly gets to exchange places with the one who chose him /her.
Step 3：Revise who’s he He’s my father.
1. Take out their pictures. Point to the pictures of each other character.
2. Ss role play in pairs.
Step 4：Made dialogue
1. Made dialogue with the sentences: (Model)
Hello, what’s your name My name’s ____. Who’s he He’s my father. What’s this It’s ____. Is this a dog No, it isn’t .Is this a panda Yes, it is.
2. Pair work.
3. Ss role play in pairs.
Step 5：Listen, look and number.
1. Refresh Ss’ memories on the target language from Units 5 through 7 by creating informal conversations.
2. T: Now, listen to the tape.
3. Play the tape for number1.
4. T: Which picture is it (Sweep your hand over the six pictures.) Write the number 1.
5. Write number 1 on the board.
6. Continue with the rest.
Step 6： Do exercises
1. ____this a panda Yes, ____ ____.
2. What’s ____ name ____ Name’s Ben.
3. What’s ____ It’s a whale.
4. ____ he He’s my father.
Step 7： Set homework
1. Have Ss draw pictures of their family.
2. Ss show their pictures to their parents and tell them about each picture.
