Unit 10 this is his body.
Lesson 1
Teaching objectives:
1. Can read the new words: eyes ear nose mouth arms legs hands feet
2. Can say each part of your body.
Teaching key points:
Some words: eyes ears nose mouth arms legs hands feet
Sentences: Touch your nose!
Open your mouth!
Close your eyes!
Teaching difficult points:
Can do the movement with the sentences in pairs skillfully.
Teaching aids: Radio tape pictures
Teaching steps:
Step one Review
The teachers show the picture card and ask “What is she doing (Ss: She is running.)
T: What are they doing (Ss: They are shopping.)
T :( Point to the head) what is this This is my head.
Step Two Presentation
.1.The teacher point to the “nose” and show the card ask “What is this ”
T: This is nose .Have Ss repeat after you. T: nose < Ss: nose >
T: (The teacher asks) what’s this < Ss: This is nose. > ( Point to the part of your body one by one. )
Have Ss read after you.
2. Teacher shows the card of “ears” and asks:
T: what’s this
This is ears. (Write it on the board.) Have Ss read and spell it after you.
Point to the picture card then point your own body parts as you say the words.
3.Do the same with other words: eye mouth arms legs hands feet.
Have Ss listen to the tape and repeat.
Point to each picture as you say it.
4.< Target.> Listen to the tape for target and have Ss repeat.
Teacher make a model and then ask Ss to act out in pairs.
Step Three Practice
Point and talk about the three pictures in each number.
T: What’s this (Point to the nose.) < Ss: It’s a nose. >
T: What are these (Point to the ears.) < They’re ears. >
Do the same for the other pictures and other number.
Play the tape for number 1. Then pause for Ss repeat.
T Which picture is it Which sentences is it
While Ss are responding, make a circle motion around the first sentence.
T: “I can touch my ears.” is the answer.
Continue with remaining three numbers, pausing after each one and let Ss repeat.
Step Four Consolidate
1. The teacher ask one student to teacher’s desk: T: Touch your nose. Have him/her copy your actions.
2. Continue with several mands and other Ss.
3. Ask Ss to act out in pairs.
Step Five Homework
Give Ss one picture of a boy’s body. Write out each part in English.
Blackboard writing:
10 This is his body.
This is his body
Ears arms legs hands
Eyes nose mouth feet
Touch your nose/mouth/eyes.
