一、Teaching aims:
Learn to ask things with the sentence: what’s this What’s that
Learn the new words: school bag, pen, ruler, book, pencil
Make Ss love school tools.
二、Teaching points and materials:
（1）Important and difficult points: Learn to use the sentence to ask things
（2）Teaching materials: a school bag with a pen, a pencil, a ruler and a book in it.
三、Teaching steps:
Warm up：
Say the rhyme: I’m a cat, cat, cat, in a cap, cap, cap.
I’m a cat, cat, cat, in a hat, hat, hat.
Presentation:
1. (Look at the screen)
Show a part of the picture and ask the students: What’s this
What's that？
2. (Show a school bag with a pen, a pencil, a ruler, a book in it)
I have a school bag. What’s in it Guess.
T: Let me see. What’s this
S1: It’s a pen.
T: Yes, it’s a pen. (Write the word pen on the blackboard)
The same way to learn the other words: pencil, ruler, book
Now my school bag is empty. (Write the word school bag on the blackboard)
Practice：
Practice the phrases: my …
The teacher says the word and the students say the phrase: my school bag, my ruler, my book, my pen, my pencil. And point to it.
Practice: Ask and answer.
E.g. T: What’s this
Ss: It’s a pen./pencil./book….
Listening comprehension:
Listen to the tape. Then tell me what can you hear
Listen to the tape again and repeat.
The teacher led the reading.

Homework:
Draw the pictures and make some cards: pen, pencil, book, ruler, school bag.
