English idiom (习语) are widely used , especially in the spoken language. Here are some examples for you. Do you know what they mean
By the skin of your teeth
If you just succeed in doing something and come very close to failing, people might say you do it “by the skin of your teeth “. For example, you pass a test by just a few points or win a match by a little bit.
Ask for the moon
If someone tells you not to ask for the moon, they mean you can’t ask for something that you cannot get or have, or try for something impossible.

Football is so popular in China. Almost everyone is interested in the sport---young and old, boys and girls, and now even robots.
Last week at Hangzhou Guangming Middle School, kids from several schools played football with their robots.
Robot football was very different from human football. Only two robots played in each match. The fields was as big as a ping-pang table. One half was black and the other was white. Each robot tried to catch the “football” and push it into the goal. The robot with more goals won..
Gao linge, a boy from Guangming Middle School, helped make one of the robots for the match.

One of the interesting things about Cuba is its educational system. As in many other countries, schools are free. What is unusual is that schools combine study with manual work. Each school has a plot of land where the children work every day. They plant vegetables, which they weed and water, and later they harvest the crops. In this way, they develop good working habits and learn how important it is to produce. Usually, children do not like vegetables such as spinach, green beans, or cabbage. But by growing vegetables themselves, Cuban children soon develop a taste for them. During the summer, older children also go to the country to help the farmers with the crops.
In this system, the children spend part of their school time studying and the rest working in the open air helping increase the nation’s production. http://www./Blog/ UserId=997609
