MODULE 5 UNIT 14 What Was Judy's Old School Like
一、教学内容分析
Unit 14 Dialogue
二、教学目标
(一)语言知识目标
1. 词汇
（1）“四会” 掌握词汇：classmate, different from, finish, less, floor.
（2）“三会” 掌握词汇：timetable.
2．句型
What was the old school like It was…
Was the timetable different from ours
How did you get home I went home by bus.
Which floor do you live on I live on the …floor.
3．语法：对一般过去时与一般现在时的时态进行区分和比较。
（二）语言技能目标
1．能够按“三会”、“四会”要求学习和掌握上述单词。
2．能在游戏、会话和活动中运用一般过去式的特殊疑问句和一般疑问句进行对话。
3．能理解课文内容，流利地朗读。
4. 模仿课文，正确运用一般过去时和一般现在时对过去和现在的物体进行描述甚至比较。
（三）学习策略目标
1．培养学生积极与他人合作，共同完成学习任务的策略。
2．培养学生学会对已学知识进行对比概括的学习策略。
3．培养学生把学习和生活实际联系起来，把学习生活化的学习策略。
（四）情感态度目标
提高学生们参与学习活动的兴趣和积极性，培养学生大胆地运用英语对自身生活实际进行描述的习惯。
（五）文化意识目标
通过课文的学习，认识英美国家对楼层的不同表达方法。
三、教学重点
1．能根据“四会”、“三会”的教学要求掌握本课词汇和句型。
2．能理解课文中的长句，并自然流利地朗读课文内容。
3．能自然地运用What was the old school like It was…
How did you get home I went home by….
Which floor do you live on I live on the …floor.等句型进行问答。
四、教学难点
1．正确使用过去、现在和将来的句子来谈论学习和生活。如:
How did you get home from school before
How will you get home
2．让学生正确理解并能流利朗读课文中出现的长句， 如：We started school later and finished earlier。We worked for a shorter time in the morning before lunch break and we had sports every afternoon. And we had less homework.
五、教学过程
(一) 热身与复习
1．Sing a song: Remember Yesterday
(通过歌曲调动学生学习的积极性，活跃课堂的气氛)
2. Free Talk:
Teacher: Where were you last night
Ps: I was…
Teacher: What did you do yesterday
Ps: I did…
（师生问答为下面的课文学习做好铺垫工作）
Teacher: Did you have a lot of homework last night
Ps: No, I didn’t.
Teacher: I think so. You had less homework than before.
Did all of you do your homework then
Ps: Yes, I did.
Teacher: So all of us finished our homework last night. Good job!
(板书less和finish以及finished，提醒学生ed在sh 后的读音。（从日常对话入手，自然地引出两个新单词，使学生们在对话中感知新单词的意思。）
3．呈现本课课题和教学目标：Unit 14 What was Judy’s old school like
(二) 呈现与操练
1.老师播放课件，整体呈现课文.
(整体呈现课文,让学生对课文初步感知.)
2.PPT打出Judy的头像。
Teacher: Who’s the girl She’s Judy, Jiamin’s new classmate.
( 板书classmate) A classmate is the pupil who studies with you in your class. Look, xx is your classmate. And xx is your classmate, too. All of you are classmates.
Judy’s from the USA. Now she wants to tell you something about her old school to her new classmates.
(教师先初步介绍Judy的情况,以引起学生们的注意力.)
（老师展示ppt 并解说）
（第一张ppt上是一所美国的小学校）This was my old school. It was small. It was near New York. I went to school by bus.
（第二张ppt上是一张课程表）This was my timetable. We went to school at nine and finished school at three. We had three classes in the morning before lunch .We had lunch at 12 o’clock. In the afternoon we started lessons at one .After school we had sports. ( 引出timetable 后板书。)

(让学生在图片和老实的解说中学习课文的内容,帮助学生理解课文,降低课文中长句的理解难度.)
3.请学生以Judy’s classmate 的身份介绍新学校。
T: After Judy introduced her old school, the pupils want to introduce the new school to Judy. Can you introduce it for her (老师展示ppt .)
(1)第一张ppt上是一所中国的学校，老师示范解说：This is our school. I think it’s bigger than your old school.
(2)第二张ppt上是另一张课程表，课程表下呈现几个问题：
1）When do we start school and finish school everyday
2) When do we have lunch
3) When do we begin our lessons
4) What do we usually do after school
请学生们先在小组内讨论再将答案串起来变成解说词。

(由于这个表格比较抽象,需要学生表达的内容也比较多 ,因此老师必须给学生提供帮助.)
(3)第三张ppt上是另一张作业登记表，
表下呈现问题：
Do we have more homework than her old school
在学生回答后老师顺势说：“Yes, she had less homework than us before.(引出less后板书)
(学生对一般现在时比较熟悉,在图片和老师提示的帮助下描述学生自己实际的校园生活有助于学生复习旧知识,也有利于培养学生大胆说英语,用所学知识进行交际的能力.)
（4）（教师出示一张附有两所学校对比图的ppt）
Are they the same Can we go to school in the same time
Did Judy begin class at 8 before
No, they are different. The timetable was different from ours. And the homework was also different from ours.
(引出different from并板书)
(通过呈现两者的对比,既可以吸引学生的注意力,提高学生的兴趣,还可以达到复习旧知识的目的,也让学生感知新旧对比的不同.)
3. 进入课文学习：
Let’s listen to Judy and her classmate’s dialogue again and think about this questions. Then give me the answers later.
(1) 呈现问题：
A: What did Judy’s old school look like
B: Where does she live at now
C: Which floor does she live on
D: Which school do you like better, the new one or the old one

(2) 播出课件。
(3) 小组互相讨论问题，并且回答。
(检查学生对课文的理解程度.)
在学生回答的过程中，教师要提醒学生注意两个问题：
A．“live at ”具体门牌搭配，“live on”与楼层搭配
B．在美式英语中，一楼的表达方式为the first floor,二楼为the second floor,如此类推；但是在英式英语中一楼表达为the ground floor; the first floor意为二楼。
(介绍中西文化差异,让学生掌握更多的异国文化.)
(4) 跟录音朗读课文，然后全班齐读课文。
(三) 巩固与发展
1. Activity Book P.58 Ex.?1
(拓展听力材料,再一次为提高学生听的能力创设机会.)
2. 请学生用自己的话去比较Judy新旧学校的不同。
1）请四人小组看着黑板的板书用英语描述Judy新旧学校的不同。
Judy is Jiamin’s new _______. She’s from ________. Her old school_______ ______ than the new one. She ______ less homework in the old school than the new one. Her new timetable is _____ _____ the old one. She _____ to go to school _______ and finishes ______in the new school than the old one. She ______ home by bus before but now she ____ home on foot. And she lives ___ the eighth floor with Xiaoling.

1. 抄写本课单词与词组并把它们记熟。
2．对比自己在三年级和六年级的学习情况，用英语来说出不同之处。
六、教学反思
本课的内容与学生的生活息息相关，且美国的学校的作息时间与我国不同，很容易吸引孩子们的注意力。本课没有出现新的动词的不规则过去时态，但是有部分的句子很长，因此在教学的过程要花一些时间教会学生断句。同时老师创设的情景也利于给学生创造机会进行时态的对比练习。
