UNIT 6 I CAN JUMP
Lesson 1
This lesson will cover the let’s chant and let’s try
Objectives
*enjoy the chant and try to chant by themselves
*understand five animal names
*match the animal names with the corresponding pictures
*pick up chunks like “Go! Go! Go!” in the lesson
Language focus:
Vocabulary: monkey, monkey, rabbit, elephant, kangaroo, lion
Procedures:
Activity 1: Let's join the race 21世纪教育网 21世纪教育网
Tell the pupils that the animals are going to take a race.
There monkey team, elephant team, kangaroo team and lion team, and they are going to get enrolled in the four animal groups voluntarily
Tell pupils that in race people will shout Go! Go! Go! To encourage their teammates, then ask the pupils to practice it several times.
Play the tape recorder, ask the pupils to listen carefully and let them follow the tape to say the whole chant several times.
Activity 2: Who am I
Play a guessing game with the pupils, in the game, the teacher does actions and the pupils guess which animal the teacher is imitating.
The teacher jumps like a kangaroo and says: jump, jump, jump. While doing the action
The pupils guess which animal the teacher is imitating. As soon as one pupil guesses correctly, the teacher says: Yes. I am a kangaroo. I can jump.
The teacher involves each group to jump together with him saying: jump, jump, jump. I’m a kangaroo. I can jump. And then involves the whole class.
Play the game in the same way imitating rabbit and lion
