Lesson 3
This lesson will cover let’s try and let’s play
Objectives
*learn a new chant and enjoy saying the chant
*get familiar with different animals and their actions in TPR activities
Language focus:
Vocabulary: swing, run, walk, jump, fish, bird, swim, fly
Sentence patterns: I’m a… I can…
Procedures
Activity 1: Let’s chant
Put the pictures of Andy, Amy, Bobby, Koto, Mr. Leo, a bird and a fish on the blackboard. Tell the pupils that those animals are the winners of the forest talent show, and now you are going to introduce them with a chant.
Activity 2: Let’s try 21世纪教育网 21世纪教育网
Say the chant and ask the pupils to listen to the chant then number them on the blackboard.
Number the pictures on the blackboard together with the pupils and put them in order
Say the new chant again with actions this time and involve the pupils to do actions together
Ask the pupils to say the chant and do actions together
Activity 3: Let’s play
Play a TPR activity with the pupils. First ask all the pupils to stand up. Then give instructions like: Hop like a rabbit. And ask the pupils to do what you say.
After giving several instructions, ask some of the pupils to gibe instructions
Tell the pupils that you are going to give the same order again, but this time they should not follow your instructions.
Ask some of the pupils to give instructions to others.
