UNIT 6 I CAN JUMP
Lesson 4
This lesson will cover story time and Andy’s box
Objectives:
*understand and enjoy the story with the help of the teacher and pictures
*try to dramatize the story with the help of the teacher
Language focus:
Vocabulary: river
Sentence pattern: What can I do Let me help you.
Procedures：
Activity 1: Let’s chant
Say the new chant learnt in the previous lesson with the pupils and do actions

Tell the story for the first time using some pictures and ask the pupils to check whether their predictions are right or not. Go on telling the story and stop before the last picture. Ask the pupils to guess what will happen last.
Tell the ending of the story and ask the pupils what they’ve learnt in the story
Tell the story for the second and the third time, and invite the pupils to join in by doing actions or saying after the teacher.
Divide the pupils into groups and ask them to practice telling or dramatizing the story.
Activity 3: Andy’s box
Ask pupils to open their textbooks to Andy’s box then read the words and say the sentences on the page with the whole class.
Ask the pupils to take out a pencil and then read the words again with their partners. If one can read the words correctly, then he can make a tick beside the words. If he cannot read the words correctly, then he can ask for help from his partner and try to read again. Then ask them to say the sentences in the same way.
Ask the pupils to do a simple self-assessing activity in the part of “Our work in Unit 6 is:” and comment on their learning this unit positively.
