UNIT TWO COME TO MY HOUSE
Lesson One
Teaching content: Let's sing & let's have fun
Objectives:
At the end of this lesson, hopefully the children will be able to:
1.Understand and say verbs like cook eat play have fun.
2.Enjoy doing corresponding actions in the TPR activities and games.
3.Enjoy singing the song with the actions.
Language focuses:
Vocabulary: cook, eat, play, have fun
Structure: Let's
Materials needed:
Tape or video; Amy's family picture; pictures showing the actions of some persons
Procedures:
Activity 1: Listen to the song < let's have fun>
1. Encourage the children by saying "Hello. Children! We are going to sing the song and play games today. Let's have fun! OK "
2. Play the tape twice to let the children listen to the song Let's have fun. Do some actions together to help them understand.
Activity 2: Play "Simon says' game 21世纪教育网 21世纪教育网
1. Tell the children that they will play a game "Simon Says" and tell them the rules of the game.
2. Divide the children into groups and set up standard of the winner of the game.
3. Play the game: In the first round, the teacher gives the instructions and the children respond with quick actions; in the second round, it can be some children who give the instructions to the class.
4. Award the winner group.
Activity 3: Play a miming game.
1. Teacher says, "Let's have fun! OK "
2. Play the game: Whisper a word to a child and ask him/her to mime the word with actions. Then other children guess the words.
Activity 4: Let's sing Let's have fun
1. Play the tape or video of this song twice and involve the children in humming the words with actions following the melody. Then encourage the children to sing in chorus twice.
2. Let the children perform singing the song with action in different groupings.
Activity 5: Let's guess the actions of Amy's families!
1. Show Amy's family picture to the children so as to review the characters in the pictures.
2. Ask the children to guess Mother's and Tommy's actions, and then play the tape to find out the correct answer.
3. Ask the children to guess Father's and Floppy's actions in Chinese and tell them they will find out the answer later.
