Lesson Two
Teaching content: Story time
Objectives:
At the end of this lesson, hopefully the children will be able to:
1. Invite someone to do something together.
2. Understand and join the teacher in telling the story.
3. Enjoy dramatizing the little story.
Language focuses:
Vocabulary: wash, watch TV
Structure: Let's
Material needed:
Tape, puppets or pictures of Amy, Sammy and Floppy, regalia's
Procedures:
Activity 1: Let's sing
Sing the song Let's have fun again with action.
Activity 2: Tell the story.
1. Tell the children they will hear a story about Amy, Tommy and Floppy.
2. Tell the story to the children with the help of the pictures. Make good use of the vivid voice, facial expressions, gestures and actions, ect. to attract the children.
Activity 3: Retell the story.
1. Retell the story involving the children to retell together imitating the teacher's vivid voice, facial expressions and actions. Try to help them sense the humor of the ending.
2. Ask the children to retell the story with the help of the teacher and the pictures.
Activity 4: Dramatize the story.
1. Give the children enough time to dramatize the story in groups.
2. Go around and offer help with the children's language and performance.
3. Give the children the chances to act out their stories.
