Lesson Three
Teaching Content: Let's Chant& Listen and Stick
Objectives:
At the end of this lesson, hopefully the children will be able to:
1. Undertand and say house, living-room, bedroom, kitchen, washroom, sleep.
2. Read the written forms of the words house, living-room, bedroom, kitchen, washroom, sleep.
3. Play the jigsaw puzzles of house, living-room, bedroom, kitchen, washroom, sleep.
4. Enjoy chanting the rhyme.
Language focuses:
Vocabulary: house, living room, bedroom, kitchen, washroom, sleep
Structures: The chant
Material needed:
Tape, pictures of the teacher's house, living-room, bedroom, kitchen and washroom, a toy drum and its drumstick.
Procedures:

Activity 2: Let's chant Come to my e today.
1. Show some pictures of the teacher's own house, bedroom, kitchen, living room and washroom. In the pictures, the teacher is inviting the people to come into the house, sleeping in the bedroom, eating in the kitchen, playing chess with a person in the living-room and washing faces in the washroom respectively.
2. Tell the children they will learn a chant about the teacher's house by saying "OK, children! Let's have fun! Let's chant! Come to my house! Come today!" Then chant the rhyme with rhythm twice, show the pictures or actions while chanting to help children to follow the meaning of the chant.
3. Ask the children to chant together.
Activity 3: Can you piece the picture together
1. In this activity, the children can be asked to play the jigsaw puzzle either individually or in groups. The stickers of the fragmentary pieces of a house, a living-room, a kitchen and a washroom are offered at the end of the Activity Book.
2. Ask the quickest persons or groups who finish piecing the pictures together to say the English words for the room.
3. Award the quickest persons or groups as the winners so as to stimulate their interest.
Activity 4: Let's find the rooms for the beautiful house.
1. Tell the children that there is a beautiful house in the picture on page 9 of the activity book, and that the rooms inside are missing. Ask them to try reading the names of the four missing rooms on the picture first.
2. Ask the children to find the stickers of the four missing rooms at the end of the book and stick them in the right places of this house.
Activity 5: Let's guess the action of Amy's families!
1. Ask the children to come to this activity which has been half-done in lesson one. Ask them to guess Mother's and Tommy's actions again, but this time, it is the teacher who gives the answer for guesses. The teacher can change the original answers into "sleep" for mother's and Tommy's action.
2. Let the children go on guessing the actions of Father and Floppy, and then play the tape to find out the correct answer.
