UNIT FOUR
Lesson Four
Teaching content: Let's try and review the chant and the song.
Objectives:
The students are expected to be able to:
1. Mime what they do after school.
2. Say what they do after school.
3. Do simple statistics with the data about the things they do after school and find out the most popular activities.

Material Needed:
Tape and tape recorder, large copy of the chart on page 30 in the textbook, flash cards, copies of the charts on page 79 in this book.

Activity 1: Warm up
1. Sing the song in this unit. Use "Come on, guys, let's sing" to instruct the children.
2. Say the chant in this unit. Use "Come on, guys, let's chant" to instruct the children.
3. Show the flash cards of the activities on page 30; get the children to say the activities in English.
Activity 2: Mime and guess.
Get some children to mime one thing they do after school. Get the other children to guess what it is.
Activity 3: Choose and report
1. Get the children to look at the table on page 30. Instruct them to choose what they do.
2. Get the children to work in pairs and tell what they do after school. Use a good student to give the class a model.
3. Elicit from the children "I don't " for those they don't do after school.
Activity 4: Which do we like best
1. Divide the class into six groups and name them the Scooter Group, the Homework Group, the Dog Group, the Video Game Group and the Policeman Group. Ask each group to remember its group identity. Appoint a leader for each group. Give each group a copy of the following chart.
2. Everybody tells the group leader what he/she does after school. The group leader ticks a square for each group member in the corresponding column.
3. After all the groups are finished with their reporting and calculating and ticking, take the result of one group and show it to the class on the projector. Count the ticks for each activity. Report the result shown in the chart by saying "In group one, seven children watch TV after school, three children ride a scooter, two children play with a dog. So this group like watch TV best!" etc.
4. Each group practices doing its report and they decide who will be reporter for the group.
5. Each group sends its reporter to do the report and the teacher ticks the favorite activity in a large copy of the same chart as the children's for each activity.
6. Find out from the large chart on the board which activity the class like best.
