UNIT FIVE
Lesson Two
Teaching content: Let's make Count, write and say
Objectives:
At the end of this unit, hopefully the children will be able to:
1. Count objects.
2. Enjoy making birthday cards!
3. Respond politely when receiving the congratulations.
Language Focuses:
Structure: Happy birthday! Thank you.
Material needed:
Puppet Amy some lovely pictures
Procedures:
Activity 1: Count Amy's presents together! 21世纪教育网 21世纪教育网
1. Tell the children that Amy got many birthday presents in the last lesson and ask them to count and discuss in groups.
2. Ask the children to write down the numbers and then do group reports.
Activity 2: Let's sing the song Happy birthday to you!
1. Ask the children whose birthdays are in the present month. Collect their names and write down their names on the blackboard with colourful chalks.
2. Ask these children to stand in the front of the classroom and others sing the song to them.
Activity 3: Let's make a birthday card!
1. Show a beautiful card made by the teacher and encourages the children to make birthday cads for the classmates whose birthdays are in the present month.
2. Do a TPR activity and ask the children to follow the teacher's instructions showing the materials needed for making houses.
3. Check if all the children are ready for the materials.
4. Get the children to follow the teacher's instructions of making birthday cards and make their own ones.
5. Go around helping the children.
Activity 4: Celebrate our friends' birthdays.
1. Ask the children to give their cards to a friend using Happy Birthday!
2. Sing the song Happy Birthday! Again and end the lesson in a happy atmosphere.
