Lesson Five
Teaching Content: Story time & Amy's Garden
Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, hopefully the pupils will be able to:
1. Understand and retell the story with the help of the teacher.
2. Understand the story and the fast learners can dramatize it.
Language Focus:
1. Understand the words and sentences in Amy's Garden.
2. Understanding the meaning of the story.
Material needed:
Tape, A big book having the pictures about this story
Procedures:

Activity 1: What presents do they want
1. Ask the children to connect Andy and his friend with the birthday presents they want.
2. Check the answer.
Activity 2: Tell the story.
1. Show a picture of a boy, David and get the children to predict what birthday present he wants in this story.
2. Tell the story to the children with a big book.
Activity 3: Retell the story.
1. Retell the story involving the children in retelling it together imitating the teacher's vivid voice, facial expressions and actions. Try to help the children to sense the humor of the ending of the story.
2. Ask the children to retell the story with the help of the teacher and the pictures.
Activity 4: Dramatize the story.
1. Give the children enough time to dramatize the story in groups.
2. Go around and offer help with the children's language and performance.
3. Give the children chance to act out the story.
Activity 5: I'm super in English!
1. Ask the children to do a simple self-assessing in this unit.
2. Comment positively on their learning in this unit.
