UNIT 6 I WANT ICE CREAM!
Lesson Two
This lesson will cover LET’S PLAY in the textbook, Ex.4 (Listen and stick) in the activity book.
Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, hopefully the pupils will be able to:
Understand and say the words (apple, orange, orange juice), the fast learner can recognize their written forms.
Understand the meaning of the song “I want”. And use it orally to ask for food.
Play the game in LET’S PLAY
Language Focus:
1. Words: apple, orange, orange juice (productive)
2. Sentence structure: I want (receptive), I am hungry. (Receptive)
Material needed: pictures realize and word cards of the four new words, tape of the song, tape recorder.
Procedures:
Activity 1: Sing the song “I like”.
1. Ask the children to sing the song and do the actions.
2. The children sing the song in groups and say the right word card when they sing the words (noodles, tea, cookies, milk),
Activity 2: Tell the story “The hungry pets”
1. Introduce the name and character of the story. The story is called “The Hungry pets.” It’s about Kitty and her pets.
2. The teacher tells the story with pictures body language, different voice and intonation, appropriate pauses, etc. 21世纪教育网 21世纪教育网
3. The teacher tells the story for the second time and children to join in.
Activity 3: Do LET’S PLAY
1.设置情景。
2. The children guess what food is on the table, and then take away the cloth at last.
3. The children act the story.
Activity 4: Do Ex.3 LISTEN AND STICK in the activity book
1.谈话导入。
2. The children listen to the tape attentively and try to understand it.
3. The children listen to the tape again and put the stickers on the fingers or on the desk one by one.
4. The children listen to the tape for the third time and stick the stickers on the right place of the pictures.
5. The children share their pictures.
6. The teacher gives some comments on it.
Activity 5: End the lesson
1. The teacher gives a summary of whole lesson.
2. Encourage the children to tell their parents what food they want in English.
