UNIT 6 I WANT ICE CREAM!
Lesson Three
This lesson will cover LET’S CHAT and LET’S TRY, Ex.1 (FIND, CLOUR AND SAY) and Ex. 2(DRAW THE OTHER HALF AND SAY) in the activity book.
Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, hopefully the pupils will be able to:
Understand and say the words (lemon, hamburger, chicken, French fries, water), the fast learner can recognize their written forms.
Understand the meaning of the song “What do you want ” And use it orally to ask for food.
Say the chat in LET’S CHAT
Language Focus:
1. Words: lemon, hamburger, chicken, French fries, water (productive)
2. Sentence structure: What do you want Please. (Productive)
Material needed: pictures, regalia and word cards of the five new words, tape of the song, tape recorder.
Procedures:

Activity 1: Share the pictures or words about food children collect.
1. Each group presents their pictures or words about food they have collected.
2. The teacher gives comments on their collection.
Activity 2: Play a memory game to learn the 5 new words about food.
1. Clarift the rules of the game.
2. The teacher numbers the words and pictures, then the teacher says the words and the children say the numbers and do the action.
3. The teacher does the actions and the children say the words as soon as possible.
4. Remove the pictures and leave the words on the blackboard only.
Activity 3: Say the chant in LET’S CHAT
1. Present the meaning of the chant by pictures, regalia and the body language.
2. The teacher teaches the pupils (listen –beat the rhythm-beat along with the teacher- beat together).
Activity 4: Do LET’S TRY
1.设计情境。
2. The teacher tells them the meaning Main courses, Drinks, Desserts.
3. The teacher makes a model. (What do you want )
4. The children take turns to be the waiter/waitress and customers.
Activity 5: Do Ex.1 and Ex.2 in the activity book.
Activity 6: End the lesson
1. The teacher gives a summary of whole lesson.
2. Encourage the children to tell their parents what food they want in English.
3. Encourage the children to say the chant.
