UNIT 6 I WANT ICE CREAM!
Lesson Five
This lesson will cover STORY TIME, AMY’S GARDEN and Ex. 5(ENJOY YOUR ENGLISH) in the activity book.
Objectives:
By the end of this lesson, hopefully the pupils will be able to:
Recognize 1.the written forms of the words about food learned in the previous lesson. (Receptive)
Understand and use the word “grapes” orally.
Understand the meaning of the retell the (The Hungry Caterpillar)
Understand the story “The city mouse and the country mouse”.
The fast learner can dramatize it.
Language Focus:
1. The 13 new words and 2 sentient structures.
2. The story “The Hungry Caterpillar” and “The city mouse and the country mouse”.
3. The instructions of making a food poster. (Receptive)
Material Needed: A puppet of a caterpillar OHT of the two stories, pictures or regalia of a grape, a banana, an apple, an orange, a cake.
Procedures:
Activity 1: Sing the song “I like noodles; I like tea.” and say the chant “Apple red ’’.
Activity 2: Tell the story “The Hungry Caterpillar”.
Activity 3: Read and listen to the story “The city mouse and the country mouse”.
1. The children look at the pictures and listen to the story.

3. The children listen to the story again; the fast learners try to dramatize the story. (Optional)
Activity 4: Do AMY’S GARDEN
Activity 6: End the lesson
1. The teacher gives a summary of whole lesson.
2. Encourage the children to tell their parents the story in English.
