教学设计说明
8A的每个chapter相对比较独立,课文的篇幅、句子结构、选材寓意的深度及涉及范围的广度等都比前几册书更上一个乃至几个台阶。8A更强调阅读,注重文章的处理。它的特点是:语言信息输入量大(单词多,课文长,各种时态、语法提前出现),选材广泛,主题有序,内容集中,循环递进,学习内容贴近学生的生活实际和思想实际。
Chapter 6 Nobody wins (I) 是一篇连载的关于太空旅行和探险的科幻小说的上半部分,讲述了太空船上的全体乘务员陷入外星人的圈套之中,故事的情节还没有发展到结局。这类文体学生接触得很少,很难学,老师也很难教。在本课时中,我力求抓住小说的要素进行教学,让学生了解小说的特征,培养他们看小说的能力。在之前的课时中,通过让学生带着问题去阅读、提出问题、答疑这样的过程来处理课文,先解决生词,再进行文章的仔细理解。本课时是第四课时,是对小说前半部分的复习及拓展,最后进行发散性思维的训练,如让学生归纳故事梗概、对故事的人物进行性格分析,预测故事的发展趋势、给小说不确定的结尾续尾等,这样给了学生思考、想象的空间,我们通过积极引导、适当拓展,提高学生运用语言的能力。
新课标提出在教学过程中应摆正“教师为主导、学生为主体”的正确关系,树立“为人的可持续发展而教”的教育观念,因此课堂中以语言运用为切入点,借助现代信息技术,努力为学生创设理想的英语学习环境,倡导参与、交流与合作的学习方式,从学生的生活经验和兴趣出发,把语言综合运用能力的培养落实在教学过程中。在整个教学中面向全体学生,突出“以人为本”的素质教育思想,使语言教学的过程同时成为提高人文素养、增加实践能力、培养创新精神的过程,让复习拓展课充满乐趣。
Teaching Design

Teaching Aims:
1. To familiarize the students with the science fiction
2. To help students review some new words and phrases
3. To develop students’ four basic skills
4. To develop students’ abilities of imagination and competition
5. To make students learn to keep calm and use their heads when they overcome difficulties
6. To deepen the students’ understanding of cherishing themselves

Teaching Procedures
1. Pre-task preparation
1) Free talk
Students from Shanghai will have a direct talk to US astronauts in mid-December. Invite the students to raise questions if they have the chance to talk to the astronauts.
2) Word competition
The students are divided into 2 groups. The representative of each group stands in front of class and guesses the words or phrases according to the definitions.
3) Crossword puzzle
Read the clues and complete the crossword puzzle with the words students have learned in this chapter.
4) Retell the story with the following words or phrases,
run out of, land, close to, two storeys high, approach, earth-type, shake, hop in, roar, turn one’s blood to ice, customs, at dawn, spring, be caught in a trap, be wrong about… , roar with laughter,
do sb. a favour, trust
2. While-task procedure
1) Discuss the characteristics of the characters.
2) Your opinions
Judge whether the following statements are reasonable or not, and give the evidence.
3) Watch, listen and judge
Some students read some sentences according to the cube cards emotionally and vividly, and the other students guess who they act as in the story.
3. Post-task activities
1) Role play
Produce a reasonable ending and act it out.
2) Summary
4. Assignment ( writing)
Write a 60-word article on how to deal with trouble.
