Step 1 warming—up
(1) Do a chant to review.
(2) Free talk: Have you got…
Step 2 Presentation
1. Lead in
T: Have you got…
T: Have you got a library card
S: No, I haven’t.
T: What is the library like
S1: It’s very big.
S2: It’s very quiet.
T: Yes, in the library, you can’t talk.
So today, let’s talk about: What you can do, what you can’t do in the library, who wants to say something
2. Practice
a. Ss talk the topic teacher gave before.
b. Change the place, give SCHOOL, PARK, SHOP, ZOO to each group, let them talk in 3 minutes, then answer the questions as more as they can, the group which gives the most answer will be winner.
c. Talk about “in the English class, what they can/can’t do
Step 3 Learn the text
(1) T: Today, Let’s learn our text about library rules.
(2) T: Now let’s use our English book an turn to page12, please look at the pictures and then try to say something…
Step 4 Listen and Repeat.
(1) Listen to the cassette and point.
(2) Listen and repeat, then T will explain some new words and important sentences for Ss.
Step 5 Homework
(1)Listen and Read the text 3times.

Step 1 warming—up
1. Words dictation
2. Read the text.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Review the text, give questions:
a. What can you do in English library
b. What you can’t do in English library
c. Are Chinese library and English library the same or different Why
2. Gameo action and say.
T writes the sentence structures on blackboard, “You can…, but you can’t …
S1: miming dancing first, then miming sing.
S2: You can dance, but you can’t sing.
Do lots of practice.
3. Learn a poem
a. First let students repeat after tape.
b. Then read together.
c. At last, ask someone read.
4. Game
This game need to divide the students into three a group.
If S1 threw the dd on “eat”, S2 threw the dd on “football”, then S3 should say “I can’t eat football”.
Step 3 Do exercise in Activity Book.
Step 4 Homework
(1) Read the text in your small group.
(2)Translate the English sentence into the Chinese.
