Bring
blind
is
tough
in
any
case.
But
things
were
even
harder
for
Srikanth
Bolla
who
was
born
in
a
small
village
in
India,
where
the
common
belief
was
that
kids
with
disabilities
were
“of
no
use”and
therefore,
better
off
dead.
Fortunately,
Srikanth's
parents
loved
their
son
and
refused
to
give
him
up.
Instead,
they
encouraged
the
blind
boy
to
dream
big
and
reach
for
the
star.
Srikanth
did
not
disappoint
his
parents.
The
now
twenty-four-year-old
is
the
founder
CEO
of
Bollant
Industries.
Of
course,
gelling
here
was
not
easy.
Being
both
blind
and
poor
meant
that
Srikanth
had
to
face
hard
challenges.
As
a
young
boy,
Srikanth
attended
a
regular
school
near
his
home.
Unfortunately,
the
students
and
teachen
didn't
quite
like
him
because
of
his
disability.
As
a
result,
the
young
boy
was
largely
ignored
and
often
spent
the
entire
day
alone.
Concerned
this
would
hold
back
Srikanth'
s
development,
his
family
decided
to
send
him
to
a
special
needs,
school
in
Hyderabad.
Sure
enough,
the
young
boy
soon
rose
to
the
top
of
his
class,
earning
awards
in
speech
and
debate
c0mpetitions
.
But
Siikanth
was
prevented
from
studying
sciences
when
he
reached
l0th
grade,
because
it
was
thought
too
“dangerous”
for
a
blind
student.Not
one
to
give
up,
Srikanth
took
legal
action
and
because
the
first
blind
student
in
the
country
allowed
to
study
sciences.
Late,
after
graduating
from
the
Massachusetts
Institute
of
Technology,
Snkanth
set
up
Bollant
Industries
in
2012.
For
just
four
years,
it
has
become
a
powerhouse
with
over
450
employees,
70%
of
whom
are
physically
challenged.
Being
disabled
doesn't
mean
being
unable.“If
the
world
looks
at
me
and
says,‘Srikanth,
you
can
do
nothing,’I
will
look
back
at
the
world
and
say
I
can
do
anyhing.”the
young
man
says.

(

which
means
you

an

by
simply
turning

the
clocks
by

hour.
Increasing
the
length
of
the
day
was
first
suggested
by
Benjamin
Franklin
in
1784.
However,
he
was
not
serious
when
he
mentioned
it
in
a
Idler
to
the
editor
of
the
Journal
of
Paris,
as
a
way
to
save
candles.
When
New

scientist
George
Hudson
put
forward
the
idea
in
1895,
he
was
hoping
for
two
additional
hours

to

Unfortunately,
his
suggestion
fell
on
deaf

as
did
British
William
Willett's
when
he
came
up
with
it
in
1907
as
a
way
to

electricity.
It
was
not
until
April
1916
that
Germany
began

to
reduce
the
use
of
artificial
light
and
save
fuel.
Then
the
US,
Britain,
and
a
few
other
countries
followed
shortly
after.
However,
losing
and
gaining
the

does
bring
some
unintended(意外的)results.
The
end
of
DST
can
change
the

of

For

that

Train

also
get
affected
by
this
change.
Passengers

Also,
many

However,lawmakers

A.
It

people'

B.
It

Yuoki,

For
starters,
there
isn't
an
actual
buffet
to
fill
your
plale
at.
Instead,
customers
are
seated
at
a
table
and
provided
with
iPads
which
they
can
use
to
order
up
to
five
small
dishes
every
ten
minutes.
They
can
eat
as
much
as
they
want
for
120
minutes,
but
having
the
food
served
at
short
intervals
(间隔)allows
diners
to
constantly
assess
how
hungry
they
are
and
order
accordingly,
preventing
food
waste.
Also,
the
owner,
Luan

believes

being
able
to

the
cooked
food
at
the

prevents
people
from
ordering
more
food
than
they
can
actually
eat.
But
Luan
Guoyu's
most
effective
way
of
fighting
food
waste,
and
the
one
that
has
attracted
media
attention,
is
his

“It’s
called

he
says,
adding
that
the
extra
charge
is
not
meant
to
increase
his
income,
but
to
act
as
a
warning
against
wasting
food.
Luan
Guoyu's
system
is

tax
for
unfinished
food
on
their
plates
since
2013.
With
so
many
people
living
on
the
edge
of
s.anation,
and
food
waste
becoming
a
serious
problem
in
developed
countries,
it
will
be
interesting
to
see
if
more
restaurants
will
start
carrying
out
the“eat
up
or
pay
up”policy.
Even
if
they
give
the
money
from
this
fine
to
charity,
it
would
still
help
them
to
save
money
in
dealing
with
waste,
so
it's
a
win
for
everyone.

How
to
Become
More
Confident
Confidence
is
something
inside,
which
means
you
can
get
it
whenever
you
want
to
just
by
thinking
about
the
world
in
a
different
way.
__16
Everyone
feels
nervous.
Ask
all
famous
actors,
athletes
or
speakers
and
you
will
find
they
all
still
gel
nervous.
The
only
difference
is
that
they've
got
used
to
nervousness
and
have
developed
some
confidence.
17
Now
think
about
your
friends
and
other
people
you
see
in
the
street.
Most
of
[hem
feel
exactly
the
same
way
you
do.
No
one
is
better
than
you.
Sure,
someone
may
be
better
than
you
in
a
given
topic,
but
that
doesn’t
mean
they
are
better
than
you.
18
They
are
both
fruit,
but
different.
The
apple
has
things
it

the

also

things
it

That
doesn't
make
one
belter
than
the

Have
you
ever
looked
in
the
mirror
and
decided
you
were
going
to
be
confident
Have
you
ever
made
up
your
mind
and
said
you
would
be
confident
just
because
you
can
If
not,
try
it
out.
You
do
not
need
any
reason
to
feel
confident.
You
only
develop
confidence
by
working
on
it.
There
are
many
ways
to
develop
confidence,
but
the
best
way
is
to
choose
it.
You
do
not
need
to
accept
all
of
these
suggestions.
20
The
more
of
these
you
realize
to
be
true,
the
easier
you
will
be
in
developing
confidence
that
will
last.
A.It
was
confidence
that
made
them
successful.
B.
The
following
are
some
facts
you
need
to
know.
C.
All
you
need
to
be
confident
is
to
choose
to
be
it.
D.
Just
like
you
cannot
say
an
apple
is
better
than
an
orange.
E.
But
they
all
started
out
that
way
too
and
are
still
nervous!
F.
For
example
many
people
believe
apples
are
better
than
oranges.
G.
To
develop
confidence,
just
give
your
attention
to
one
of
them
and
test
it
