Happiness is for everyone. You don't need to care about those people who have beautiful houses with large gardens and swimming pools or those who have nice cars and a lot of money and so on. Why Because those who have big houses may often feel lonely and those who have cars may want to walk on the country roads at their free time.
In fact, happiness is always around you if you put your heart into it. When you are in trouble at school, your friends will help you; when you study hard at your lessons, your parents are always taking good care of your life and your health; when you get success, your friends will say congratulations to you; when you do something worng, people around you will help you to correct it. And when you do something good to others, you will feel happy, too. All these are your happiness. If you notice them, you can see that happiness is always around you.
Happiness is not the same as money. It is a feeling of your heart. When you are poor, you can also say you are very happy, because you have something else that can't be bought with money. When you meet with difficulties, you can say loudly you are very happy, because you have more chances to challenge yourself. So you cannot always say you are poor and you have bad luck. As the saying goes, life is like a revolving(旋转 ) door. . When it closes, it also opens. If you take every chance you get, you can be a happy and lucky person.

A. money always brings happiness B. money doesn't always bring happiness
C. everything can be bought with money D. only rich people have happiness
( )10. Which is the title of the passage
A. Happiness B. Happy and Lucky C. Do Something Good to Others D. life and Success

Years ago, I lived in a building in a large city. The building next door was only a few feet away from mine. There was a woman who lived there, whom I had never met, yet I could see her seated by her window each afternoon, sewing or reading.
After several months had gone by, I began to notice that her window was dirty. Everything was unclear through the dirty window. I would say to myself, "I wonder why that woman doesn't wash her window. It really looks terrible."
One bright morning I decided to clean my flat, including washing the window on the inside.
Late in the afternoon when I finished the cleaning, I sat down by the window with a cup of coffee for a rest. What a surprise! Across the way, the woman sitting by her window was clearly visible. Her window was clean!
Then it dawned on me. I had been criticizing (批评) her dirty window, but all the time I was watching hers through my own dirty window.
That was quite an important lesson for me. How often had I looked at and criticized others through the dirty window of my heart, through my own shortcomings
Since then, whenever I wanted to judge (评判) someone, I asked myself first, "Am I looking at him through my own dirty window "
Then I try to clean the window of my own world so that I may see the world about me more clearly.

My friend, Victor, is a zoo keeper in the National Zoo. His work is very interesting but it is hard. Sometimes it is dangerous, too. Every morning the zoo keepers have to get up at five to prepare the food for the animals. Each kind of animal is given special food. For example, the lions must be given meat; the deer must be given grass and leaves; and the parrots must be given fruit and nuts. Sometimes some animals won't let the others eat their food. If this happens, each of them must be fed separately(分离地) .
Every morning each cage must be washed by the zoo keepers. This can be dangerous, especially with lions and tigers. To make the work easier, the animals are locked in the sleeping compartments (隔间) while the cages are being washed. When the animals are sick, the zoo keepers must look after them. Each sick animal is kept in a separate cage and given medicine. Sometimes they must be given injections. It is not easy to inject a sick lion!
All the keepers live near the zoo. Each of them has a small house. There he lives with his family. They do not have holidays on Sundays and public holidays. Instead, each of them has a day off during the week. Each keeper has a holiday on a different day from that of the other keepers.

One thing that British and Chinese cultures share is a love for fine tea. Today, when we think of Western tea culture, we often think of the English and beautiful china tea cups.
Afternoon tea
People believe that an English lady, Anna, first introduced the idea of afternoon tea. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the English ate only two main meals each day—breakfast and a heavy supper that would last for several hours in the evening. As a result, people often got very hungry during the long wait between these two meals. To solve this problem, Anna came up with the clever idea of inviting some friends to join her for an afternoon meal between four and five o’clock. This meal included cakes and sandwiches, and tea was served to wash down the food. In order to make this afternoon meal important, fine china cups and plates, and sliver teapots, knives, forks and spoons were used. Soon, afternoon tea parties became popular social occasions. Today, afternoon tea parties continue to play an important part in the social life in modern Britain.
Will you come for coffee
Coffee also has an important role in British culture. People often use the words “Will you come for coffee ” to mean “Would you like to come to my home for a chat(聊天) ” Normally, several different drinks such as tea, hot chocolate or a soft drink like orange juice will be served as well as coffee, and you will be asked what you would like. However, you will not normally be served wine at a “coffee” party.
Coffeehouses and the London Stock Exchange
In the 17th century London, coffeehouses were busy and noisy places. Businessmen and bankers went to coffeehouses to do their business, as well as to drink coffee. In fact, the London Stock Exchange(股票交易所)is believed to have started from these coffeehouses.

What is the hottest topic at your school recently In Hangzhou Yongjin Middle School, it’s money.
The school held an activity called “making money” last weekend. About 200 Junior 1 and Junior 2 students were divided into 30 teams. They went out to make money by selling things.
What did they choose to sell Some sold newspapers; some chose bottled water; some sold environmentally friendly shopping bags and bamboo baskets.
Hu Qing’s team decided to sell some useful books in front of the Children Activity Center. They thought parents would like to buy the books for their children. He said he wanted to help the children,” said Wang. “We were touched.” Later that day they gave the 100 yuan and more to the “Project Hope” office.
Meng Zhaoxiang and his team were luckier. They sold all their cakes in four hours, spending 39.5 yuan and getting back 80 yuan. Every day Long Chuan had to walk several kilometers to carry drinking water. “I couldn’t ride a bike and it took me 3 hours to walk to school. I can’t remember how many times I slipped (滑倒) on the hard ice, ” said Long Chuan.

More and more advertisements appear on the Web. You have to be careful not to be fooled or tricked(欺骗) by the advertisements on the Internet. Something is said to be a bargain, but it isn’t always cheap. And some so-called new things just have a new outside.
However, shopping online is a kind of fashionable(时尚的) thing today. I love to buy things of everyday use, so I often get lots of information about them on websites online. For example, if I want an MP3, I can choose my favourite one, and look for what the users like or don’t like about it, then decide whether to buy or not. And at the same time, you don’t have to go to a shop or walk around a crowded shopping area, so you don’t have to waste much time. The Internet is really useful for shopping, but be careful not to spend too much.

In Britain, people often invite friends for a meal, a party or just coffee. People who know each other very well—close friends, family or neighbors—visit each other’s houses without an invitation(邀请), but usually an invitation is needed. When people invite someone to their homes, they often say: “Would you like to come for dinner on Saturday ” Answers are:“ Thanks. We’d love to. What time ” or “I’m sorry. We’d love to but we have tickets for the concert.” However, it is not polite to say “No, we wouldn’t”!
Sometimes, the British use expressions(表达) that sound like invitations but which are not invitations. For example: “You must come over for a drink sometime.” or “Let’s go out for a meal one of these days.” These are usually just polite ways of ending a talk. They are not real invitations because they don’t mention an exact time or day. They just show that the person is trying to be friendly and the answers are: “Yes, that would be nice.” or “OK, yes, thanks.”
So next time you hear what sounds like an invitation, listen carefully. Is it a real invitation or is the person just being friendly
