【知识精讲】
1. by asking the teacher for help通过向老师求助
(1)by作介词，后接doing，表示“用……手段”或“方式”。如：
He studies by making flashcards.
(2)by后面也可以接交通工具的名词，表示“乘、骑……”如：
You can go to the bird nest by subway.
2. It’s hard to understand the voices 要明白那声音说的是什么简直太难了。
(1) too + adj./adv. + to + do sth. 意为“太……而不能……”，表示否定意义。例如：
This question is too difficult for me to
answer.这个问题太难了，我不能回答。
(2) too...to... 可以与so...that和(not) enough to相互转换。例如：
The boy is too young to go to school.
=The boy is so young that he can’t go to school.
=The boy is not old enough to go to school
【注意】在这个句型中，句子主语和不定式的宾语是指同一个事物，则宾语不能重复，必须省掉，这个箱子太重，我搬不动。
误：This box is too heavy for me to carry it.
正：This box is too heavy for me to carry.
