一、教学目标
认知目标:学会认读单词Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
技能目标:理解各个单词的含义,能够辨形、知音、识意。会唱歌曲《Days of the Week》。
情感目标:珍惜时间,合理利用好每一天。
二、教学难点: 区分Sunday, Saturday和Tuesday, Thursday.
三、教学过程:
Step 1. Pre-task preparation
Song: Days of the Week
a. Listen and enjoy.
b. Listen again and show the word cards on the board.
c. Look at the word cards and listen to the song the third time.
Step 2. While-task procedure
1. Point to the word cards.
T: Look carefully, my class. What’s the same between these words
(1) Ss: The first letter is a capital letter.
T: Yes. Now pay attention. Let’s read the first letter of each word.
T: What do you find out
① S1: There are two ‘S’.
T: Good. Now read after me: Sunday↑, Sunday↓. S-u-n-d-ay, Sunday↑, Sunday↓. Sunday is the first day of the week.
Look at this ‘S’. Follow me: Saturday↑, Saturday↓. S-a-t-ur-d-ay, Saturday↑, Saturday↓. Saturday is the last day of the week.

T: Can you find ‘Sunday’ / ‘Saturday’ on our Class Curriculum
Oh, I see. We have no school on Sunday and Saturday.
② S2: There are two ‘T’.

T: (Show the word card: Thursday) Tuesday (Ss: No.)

(2) Ss: Each word has a ‘day’.
T: Right. d—a—y, day↑,day↓. Now let’s count. One day, two days, three days, four days, five days, six days, seven days.
There are seven days in a week. (Write the sentence on the board.)
Students repeat the sentence several times.
2. Lead in: Days of the Week
T: There are seven days in a week. What are they They are Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. That makes a week. (Write the sentence on the board.)
3. Point to the Class Curriculum.
T: We have lessons from Monday to Friday. We must go to school from Monday to Friday.
M-o-n-d-ay, Monday↑, Monday↓.
F-r-i-d-ay, Friday↑, Friday↓.
4. Lead in: Wednesday
T: Now, my friends. Look at the board. Let’s read the words together.
Ss: Sunday↑, Sunday↓. Monday↑, Monday↓. Tuesday↑, Tuesday↓…….
T: Oh, I’m sorry. Here’s still a new word. Follow me:
