【辨析】allow, let与promise
(1)allow一般指听任或者默许某人做某事,含有消极地不反对的意味。
(2)let 也是允许,但是其后的宾语要接不带to的不定式,即let sb. do sth. 让/允许某人做某事。
(3)promise意为“答应;允诺”,用于主体答应自己要做什么。promise sb. sth. 答应某人某事, promise (sb.) to do sth. 答应(某人)做某事。【应用】 用allow, let或promise的适当形式填空
