1.连词 whether / if引导宾语从句
whether / if起连接作用, 在从句中不充当任何句子成分, 但不能省略，作“是否”解, 在口语中多用if。如：
Tom doesn’t know if / whether his grandpa liked the present.
He asked me whether or not I was coming.◆一般情况下, if 和whether可以互换, 但以下三种情况只能用whether：
①在不定式前：
Whether to go there or not hasn’t been decided.
②在介词前：
It depends on whether it is going to rain.
③与or not连用：
They are talking about whether to go there or not.2.疑问词引导的宾语从句
疑问词在句中既起连接作用，作句子成分, 又有实际意义：
连接代词：who, whom, whose, what, which,
连接副词：when, where, why, how
who在从句中作主语、表语；whom在从句中作宾语；whose在从句中作定语；what, which在从句中作主语、宾语、表语或定语；when, where, why, how在从句中分别作时间状语、地点状语、原因状语、方式状语。如：The teacher asked the new students which class he was in.
