There are many places of interest in Italy.
Piazzadel Colosseo圆形竞技场
圆形竞技场（又译罗马斗兽场）是罗马时代最伟大的建筑之一，也是保存最好的一座圆形竞技场。位于罗马城中威尼斯广场的东南面，奥勒利安城墙内。古城结构保存良好，为世界典范。罗马斗兽场是世界八大名胜之一，也是罗马帝国的象征。斗兽场的外观像一座庞大的碉堡，占地20000平方米，围墙周长527米，直径188米，墙高57米，相当于一座19层现代楼房的高度，场内可10.7万观众。
米兰大教堂（DuomodelMilano）
雄踞在意大利米兰市中心的米兰大教堂亦称圣母降生教堂，多莫大教堂，于公元1386年开工建造，1500年完成拱顶，1774年中央塔上的镀金圣母玛利亚雕像（据说手已经被盗）就位。1897年最后完工，历时五个世纪。拿破仑曾于1805年在米兰大教堂举行加冕仪式。
威尼斯（Venezia）
威尼斯建于公元5世纪的世界著名城市位于意大利东北部，离大陆约4公里，坐落在威尼斯湖约118个大大小小的岛屿上。150多条运河和400座桥梁纵横交错，把这118个岛屿联成一个城市整体。成为世界上最具有吸引力的旅游城市。

比萨斜塔位于意大利的比萨小镇，是一座由白
色云石建成的古塔。该塔发生倾斜但斜而不倒，比
萨因此远近闻名。比萨斜塔建于1807年，塔高79
尺，自建成以后曾发生多次倾斜，常人只凭眼睛也
能察觉。意大利科学家伽利略曾在斜塔的顶层做过
自由落体运动的实验，开创了实验物理的新时代，
斜塔也因而更加闻名遐迩。意大利政府曾想尽办法
制止古塔的继续倾斜，但到目前为止未能成功。

比萨斜塔是比萨城的标志，1987年它和相邻的大教堂、洗礼堂、墓园一起因其对11世纪至14世纪意大利建筑艺术的巨大影响，而被联合国教育科学文化组织评选为世界遗产。
比萨斜塔从地基到塔顶高58.36米，从地面到塔顶高55米，钟楼墙体在地面上的宽度是4.09米，在塔顶宽2.48 米，总重约14453吨，重心在地基上方22.6米处。

It started to lean in 1178, when the building got to the third floor.

The Tower of Pisa is one of the most beautiful bell towers in Italy. It is not only beautiful, but also strange-----it leans to one side. Today, it is known as ‘ the Leaning Tower of Pisa’.
The building of the tower began in 1173. It took nearly 200 years to complete. In 1178, when the building got to the third floor, it started to lean. The builders tried to make the tower straight again when they built the upper floors, but failed.
Over the years, the tower has continued to lean further. Experts have done a lot of studies and tried to ‘rescue’ the tower. In 1990, it was closed to the public for safety reasons. After a lot of effort, it reopened in 2001. And hopefully, it will be safe at least for the next 300 years.
