If
there's
one
thing
everyone
knows
about
the
Dead
Sea,
it
is
that
you
can't
sink
in
it.It
is
eight
or
nine
times
saltier
than
the
oceans
of
the
world-so
mineral-rich
that
it
doesn't
even
feel
like
normal
water,more
like
olive
oil
mixed
with
sand.For
decades,no
holiday
in
the
Holy
Land
or
Jordan
has
been
complete
without
a
photograph
of
the
bather
sitting
on
the
surface,usually
reading
a
newspaper.
But
the
Dead
Sea
is
also
a
unique
ecosystem
and
a
sensitive
barometer(晴雨表)of
the
state
of
the
environment
in
a
part
of
the
world
where
a
dry
climate
and
the
need
to
irrigate
farms
combine
to
create
a
permanent
shortage
of
water.
You
may
have
read
that
the
Dead
Sea,whose
surface
is
the
lowest
point
on
the
planet,is
dying.You
can
see
why
the
idea
appeals
to
headline
writers
but
it
isn't
true.The
truth
is
that
as
the
level
drops,the
saltiness
is
rising
and
will
eventually
reach
a
point
where
the
rate
of
evaporation(蒸发)will
reach
a
kind
of
equilibrium,-the
amount
of
water
vapor
that
goes
into
the
air
equals
that
of
rainfall.
The
Dead
Sea
is,however,becoming
smaller
at
an
alarming
rate-the
surface
level
is
dropping
more
than
a
meter
a
year.The
surface
of
the
Dead
Sea
is
so
deep
that
journeying
along
the
road
which
winds
down
to
the
shore
causes
your
ears
to
pop
as
they
do
on
a
landing
plane.The
other
side
of
the
coin,however,is
the
beautiful
landscape
and
relief
in
the
combination
of
mineral-rich
water,comforting
mud
and
abundant
sunlight
as
your
reward.
Tourists
can
choose
to
visit
resorts
in
either
Jordan
or
Israel
and
both
countries
also
export
makeup
products
made
in
this
area.
28.What
do
we
know
about
the
Dead
Sea
from
the
passage
A.It
is
disappearing
at
a
fast
speed.
B.It
is
of
great
economic
value.
C.It
results
in
the
shortage
of
water.
D.It
looks
a
bit
like
normal
water.
29.What
does
the
underlined
word
“equilibrium”
in
Paragraph
3

What’s
more
exciting
than
having
a
fresh
hot
pizza
delivered
to
your
door
How
about
having
it
brought
to
your
by
a
robot
Thanks
to
Domino’s
Robotic
Unit
or
DRU,
that
just
became
a
reality!
On
March
8,
the
three-feet
tall
robot
delivered
its
first
pizza
to
some
lucky
residents
in Brisbane, Australia.
The
fully autonomous DRU
is
the
result
of
a cooperation
between
Domino’s
Pizza
Australia
and
Marathon
Robotics.
The
450-pound machine
that
travels
at
a
maximum
speed of
12.4
miles
an
hour can traverse a
distance
of
up
to
12
miles
and
back,
before
requiring
a
battery
recharge.
LIDAR,
a
laser-based
sensor technology
similar
to
the
one
used
in self-driving
cars,
enables
DRU
to detect and
avoid
obstacles,
while
traditional sensors,
much
like
those
used
in
vacuum
robots
ensure
its
path
is
safe
as
it
heads
to
its destination.
The
robot
can
fit
up
to
ten
pizzas
and
even
has
a
separate
cold
area
to
accommodate
drink
orders.
To
access
their
food,
customers
have
to
enter
the
unique
code
provided
to
them
by
the
company.
This
not
only
ensures
that
they
pick
up
the
right
pizza,
but
also
prevents
the
pies
from
getting
stolen.
Scientists
expect
additional
DRU’s
to
be
ready
for
service
in
their
various Queensland locations
within
the
next
six
months.
But
don’t
expect
these
super
cute
robots
to
replace
humans
anytime
soon.
According
to
Domino’s
the
DRU
still
needs
extensive
testing,
which
the
company
believes
could
take
up
to
two
years.
And
then
there
is
also
the
issue
of regulations.
The
public
use
of autonomous vehicles
is
still
banned
in
most
countries.
But Don
Meij,
the
CEO
and
Managing
Director
of
Domino’s
Pizza
Australia
New
Zealand
Ltd,
is
not
worried.
He
is
"confident
that
one
day
DRU
will
become
an
integral
part
of
the
Domino’s
family."
32.What’s
the
function
of
LIDAR
A.Keeping
DRU
free
of
obstacles
B.Recharging
DRU’s
battery
C.Helping
DRU
find
its
destination
D.Protecting
DRU
from
bad
weather
33.What
does
the
underlined
word
“accommodate”
in
Paragraph
3
probably
mean
A.Heat
B.Hold
C.Sell
D.Show
34.Why
does
the
company
provide
codes
for
its
customers
A.To
fit
up
more
pizzas
B.To
prevent
the
pizza
being
taken
by
mistake
C.To
keep
the
pizza
warm
D.To
get
the
pizza
paid
in
time
35.What
can
we
infer
about
future
of
DRU
A.It
may
need
some
improvements
B.It
will
replace
humans
soon
C.It
may
be
banned
in
Australia
D.It
will
soon
be
applied
worldwide
第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
There
are
so
many
things
we
do
in
our
daily
lives
that
have
become
a
“habit”, 36 How
you
answer
the
phone
is
a
habit.
The
way
you
sit
in
the
car
when
you
drive
is
a
habit.
Have
you
ever
tried
to
change
the
way
you
do
something,
after
you’ve
done
it
in
a
certain
way
for
so
long
It’s
easy
to
do
as
long
as
you
think
about
it.
The
minute
your
mind
drifts
to
something
else,
you
go
right
back
to
the
old
way
of
doing
things. 37 It’s
a
way
of
doing
things
that
has
become
routine
or
commonplace.
To
change
an
existing
habit
or
form
a
new
one
can
be
a
tedious(单调乏味的)
task.
Let’s
pick
something
fairly
easy
to
start
with,
like
spending
15
minutes
in
the
morning
reading the Bible.
If
you
want
to
turn
something
into
a
habit
that
you
do
every
day,
you
have
to
WANT
to
do
it. 38 Make
a
firm
decision
to
do
this
on
a
daily
basis.
Imprint(铭刻)
it
in
your
mind.
Write
several
notes
to
yourself
and
put
them
in
places
where
you
will
see
them.
By
the
alarm
clock,
on
the
bathroom
mirror,
on
the
refrigerator
door,
in
your
briefcase,
and
under
your
car
keys
are
good
places
to
start.
After
the
newness
wears
off,
then
you
will
have
to
remind
yourself,
"Hey,
I
forgot
to...".
Keep
using
the
notes
if
you
have
to. 39 Some
people
say
it
will
take
over
a
month
to
solidify(变得稳固)
it
and
make
it
something
you
will
do
without
having
to
think
about
it.
I
tend
to
agree
with
the
last
statement.
Two
to
three
weeks
will
help
you
to
remember,
but
thirty
days
or
more
will
make
it
a
part
of
your
everyday
routine. 40
A.
What
is
a
"habit"
anyway
B.
Is
doing
things
in
an
old
way
good
C.
Brushing
your
teeth
is
a
habit.
D.
Forming
a
bad
habit
is
easy.
E.
It
takes
16
to
21
times
of
repeating
a
task
to
make
it
a
habit.
F.
If
you
don’t,
you
will
find
a
way
to
do
everything
but
that.
G.That’s
something
you
won’t
necessarily
have
to
think
about
before
you
do
it

habit.

15
years
ago,
I
was
arranged
to
be
a
doctor
in
a
small
hospital
after
graduation.
As
the
41
,
it
was
the
newcomer
to
be
in
charge
of
the
night
42
affairs.
It
was
a
thankless
job
for
me
43
Mr.
Henderson
came
into
my
life.
At
11
pm
of
one
April
5th
night,
a
60-year-old
man
suffering
heart-attack
was
44
into
the
emergency
room.
I
did
my
best
the
whole
night
to
save
his
life.
When
I
left
the
next
morning,
I
45
to
see
how
he
was
doing.
He
had
__46
that
night.
Three
months
later,
at
11
pm
47
,
I
was
48
that
a
couple
wanted
to
speak
with
me.
When
I
49
them,
the
man
said,
“My
name
is
John
Henderson.
You
probably
don’t
remember
me.
But
at
the
50
time
three
months
ago,
you
saved
my
life.”
They
then
51
me
and
before
they
left
they
handed
me
a
delicate
gift
to
52
their
thankfulness.
They
said
they
would
come
to
visit
me
53
.
The
next
April
5th
night,
I
54
to
stay,
though
a
new
doctor
bad
replaced
my
night
work.
At
exactly
11pm,
55
,
the
Hendersons
appeared,
56
a
baby
stroller(婴儿车).
It
was
their
new
grandchild.
Last
April
5th
nights,
Mr.
Henderson
handed
me
another
gift---a
silver
card
57
seven
words
carved
on
it;
A
good
friend
is
a
nearest
58
.
I
take
it
as
one
of
my
priceless
59
because
it
always
reminds
me
that
a
job
that
I
had
been
60
to
do
should
bring
me
family-like
care
from
someone
I
would
have
never
known.

第二节
语法填空(共10小题;每小题15分,满分15分)
阅读下面材料,在空白处填入适当内容(1个单词)或括号内单词的适当形式(不超过3个单词)。
This
is
a
true
story
which
happened
in
the
States.
61
man
came
out
of
his
home
to
admire
his
new
truck.
To
his
puzzlement,
his
three-year-old
son
was
62
(happy)
hammering
dents(凹痕)
into
the
shiny
paint
of
the
truck.
The
man
ran
to
his
son,
knocked
him
away,
hammered
the
little
boy's
hands
into
pulp(果浆汁)
as
63
(punish).
When
the
father
calmed
down,
he
rushed
his
son
to
the
hospital.
Although
the
doctor
tried
desperately
to
save
the
crushed
bones,
he
finally
had
to
cut
the
fingers
from
both
the
boy's
hands.
When
the
boy
64
(wake)
up
from
the
operation
and
saw
his
bandaged
stubs,
he
innocently
said,
“Daddy,
I'm
sorry
about
your
truck,
65
when
are
my
fingers
going
to
grow
back ”
The
father
went
home
and
committed
suicide.
Think
about
this
story
the
next
time
someone
steps
on
your
66
(foot)
or
you
wish
to
take
revenge.
Think
first
67
you
lose
your
patience
with
someone
you
love.
Trucks
can
be
repaired,
but
68
(break)
bones
and
hurt
feelings
often
can't.
Too
often
we
fail
to
recognize
the
difference
between
the
person
and
the
performance.
We
forget
that
forgiveness
is
69
(great)
than
revenge.
People
make
mistakes.
We
70
(allow)
to
make
mistakes.
But
the
actions
we
take
while
in
a
rage
will
impress
us
forever.

It
has
been
a
long
time
since
I
did
anything
good
for
the
environment.
Feeling
responsible
to
protect
the
environment,
I
decided
to
take
the
action
again.
I
told
my
idea
to
my
friends
and
we
planned
to
plant
tree
on
the
hill
in
the
countryside.
We
came
to
the
foot
of
the
hill
and
selected
a
place
where
looked
suitably
and
settled
down.
We
spend
a
few
hours
digging
holes
and
placing
the
young
seedlings.
Then
we
wrote
our
wishes
on
cards
one
to
one
and
buried
it
deep
down
the
roots
of
the
trees.
We
also
took
a
lot
of
pictures.
We
were
such
busy
that
we
didn’t
realize
that
it
was
time
to
go
back.
I
felt
really
glad
that
we
made
difference
to
the
environment.
