Step1. Warm up:T: Class begins!Morning! Boys and girls!S: Morning ,teacher!T: What day is it today S: It’s / Today is…T: What do you do on weekend S: I do my homework.Step 2. Review1. Review the numbers from one to twenty in a class drill.2. Write twenty-one on the board. Ask the children to read the number to you.3. Repeat the procedure for the numbers twenty-two through thirty.Step 3. Set the scene1. Ask all the children who are wearing watches to put up their hands.2. Point to your own watch. Ask, “What’s this ” Elicit, “It’s a watch.”3. In Chinese, ask the children what time it is.Step 4. Model the dialog1. Explain to the children that in this lesson they are going to learn how to tell the time in English.2. Present the question, “What time is it ” Write the question on the board and explain its meaning. read the question aloud, pointing to each word as you do so. Have the children repeat the question after you.3. Now present the word clock. Repeat the procedure used to model the question.4. Draw a clock on the board, with its hands reading one o’clock. Point to your drawing and say, “It’s one o’clock.”5. Change the small hand on the clock so that it points to 2. point to your drawing again. Ask, “What time is it ” Elicit , “It’s two o’clock.”6. Repeat the procedure for each hour, from three o’clock through twelve o’clock.Step 5. Talk about the storyHave the children open their books at pages 14 and 15. Then ask these questions about the pictures:P1: “What is Mocky doing ”(Point to the picture of the watch. Ask, “What time is it ” Elicit, “It’s three o’clock.”)P2/3: “What is happening now ”P4: “What time is it ”(Elicit, “It’s five o’clock..”)P5: “What do you think Bobby is asking Mocky ”P6: “What is Mocky looking at ”P7 / 8: “What is happening now ”P9: “What do you think is wrong with Mocky’s watch ”(Present the word broken.)P10: “What do you think Uncle Booky has done to Mocky’s watch ”(Present the word fix, and its past tense form, fixed.)Step 6. Story1. Say, “Now we’re going to hear what the characters said.” Play the tape without stopping. Have the children look at them listen.2. Play the tape again, pausing after each picture. Have the children repeat the words each time.Step 7. Pair work:Ask the students to talk about the time with their watch . And then act it out.Step 8. Group work:Ask the students to make a new dialogue in their groups. And then act it out.Step 9. Fight game:The students have five minutes to prepare the competition. Game 1: Please say out the new words in Chinese. Game 2: Please say out the new words in English. Game 3: Please find out the next sentence.Step 10. Extend:Three thirty: half past threeFour fifty: ten to fiveStep 11. Sum up: Today we have learned the time expression. Practise the students’ listening And speaking Ask the children to know the new languages of this unit and at the same time, show the topic: “Today is Monday”Elicit the new words Practise the new sentences. 教 学反 思 学生对时间的表达方式并不是很困难，因此本课重点放在课文的理解，如broken一词，我先将一个磁带盒摔坏，问what’s the matter 来练习理解broken一词，在通过让学生把磁带盒恢复理解fix, fixed一词，效果较好。
