Step1. Warm up:T: Class begins!Morning! Review1. Review the flashcards for Units 5 and 10.2. Hold up the flashcard for school. Cover it with a piece of blank paper so that the children can not see the picture. Remove the blank paper bit by bit. Ask, “What’s this ” until the children get, “It’s a ( school ).”3. Repeat for the other flashcards.4. Take out the flashcards for Unit 5. Present each card and elicit the name from the children.5. put up the flashcards on the board. Tell the children they are going to these places one by one, and they need to invite more and more children to join them.6. At the beginning, point to the flashcard for post office and say to a child, “Let’s go to the post office. / Shall we go to the post office ” Have the child respond with “OK.” or “Let’s go.” Etc. then together with the child to invite other children.Step 3. Tell the children they will play a game called I spy. Explain that you will secretly write down the English name for one of the flashcards and you want them to guess what it is. Tell the children that the only clue you will give them is the beginning letter of the object’s English name.3. Have the children say, “Is it a ( rabbit ) ” each time they make a guess. Answer only, “Yes, it is.” Or “No, it isn’t.” For example, begin by saying, “I spy something beginning with the letter ( c ).” When a child guesses correctly, show him or her the piece of paper with the name cat written on it. Then write the name on the board.4. Repeat the procedure, choosing another flashcard for something with a different beginning letter.5. To make the game more competitive, divide the class into teams and keep scores on the board. Give one point for each correct answer.6. If the children appear confident in playing this game, allow a child to stand in your place and choose a flashcard. Have the child whisper the English name of the object to you so that you can write it down. Then have the child say, “I spy something beginning with the letter ( d ).” Then the child can answer “Yes, it is.” Or “No, it isn’t.” in response to the other children’s questions.Step 5. extend Try to tell them another story about animals.Step 6.
