本单元的话题是围绕着奥运会活动和记录展开的,而本课以电子邮件的形式讲述了Danny的班级记录和李明所参加的活动,初二年级的学生尤其是男生对运动项目是比较感兴趣的,所以学习本课可以引导学生讨论校运会我班同学的参赛项目和获奖情况,激发他们的学习欲望,并进一步了解更多与奥运和运动有关的情况。另外,同学们英语基础和口语都相对较差,所以教学中要兼顾到每一位学生。
