1. Aims of knowledge

(1) Students can introduce how to clean up the schoolyard in English.

2学情分析
Most of the students are not good at English in my class, especially oral English. They dare to speak English. So I need to encourage them to speak more English and express themselves. Some students aren’t active in class. I always say to them “Open your mouth and don’t be shy, it doesn’t matter if you make mistakes.”21教育名师原创作品

1. Be able to express new words, phrases and main sentences in English.
2. Understand the text and try to retell it.
3. Be able to talk about how to protect the environment in oral English.

活动1【导入】教学活动
Step1 Warm-up and Lead-in
1. Review the last unit to lead-in new lesson.
T: We’ve learnt Unit 7 last week. In Unit 7 we know about our world
(1) How many continents are there in the world?
(2) Which continent is the biggest on?
(3) Which one is the smallest?
T: Ok, We know our world is a big place, it’s very beautiful. But now there is something wrong with it .What’s wrong with it? Let’s look at the pictures.21世纪教育网版权所有
T: Which picture do you like better ? Why?

2. Show pictures of new words on the screen, Ask some students to guess the new words and spell out to check student’s preview. Then let students read after the tape and remember their meanings and pronunciation.
Step 2 Listening and Reading
1. Play the tape of the text, ask students to listen and read the text with the following questions:2·1·c·n·j·y
(1) Where are Jenny, Danny and Brian?(in the school yard)
(2) What’s the date today? (June 5.)

(4) When will they finish cleaning? (In an hour)
(5)What did Jenny find in the garbage? (Danny’s lost homework)
2. Let students read the text together, then check the answers in class. Then finish off Let’s Do It part 1.Write true or false.21*cnjy*com
3. Work in pairs to read the dialogue, then exchange and read again, check the pronunciation with each other.
4. Ask some pairs to role play the dialogue in front of the class, choose the best pair to praise.
5. Work in groups to translate the text and choose a student from each group to write main phrases and difficult sentences on the blackboard. Explain them and make new sentences.
Step 3 Practice
1. Work in groups to discuss the following questions:21·世纪*教育网
(1) What rubbish do students throw away every day?
(2) When you see a lot of rubbish in our school yard, how do you feel? What should we do about it?
Ask some students from each group to present their answers. At the same time, show students some pictures and sentences to help them.
⑴ We should be more careful with garbage and don’t throw garbage here and there .
⑵ We should make less pollution.
⑶ Everyone should pick up the garbage and protect our environment
2. Write a short passage to introduce your ideas about protecting our school environment. Practice for a while, ask two students to read their passages in front of the class.21教育网

Part 5. Comments
When my students took this lesson, they showed a big interest in it. They are active and many students could present themselves bravely. But I know I still have some problems in designing and teaching, For example, a few students still can’t blend into the class.
