How does it feel ? Betty has a pet. Her pet is a bird. His name is Birdie. The bird is blue, green and yellow. The bird’s feet are brown. Birdie lives in a cage . There are two bowls in the cage . One bowl has water in it . One bowl has bird’s seed(鸟食） in it . Birdie’s cage has a door . Birdie cannot open the door . He can not get out of his cage . He sits on a perch(栖木） in the cage and sings.
One day Betty opens the door of Birdie’s cage . She puts some fresh(新鲜) seed in the seed bowl . She puts some clean water in the water bowl . Then the telephone rings . Betty runs to the telephone . She forgets（忘记） to shut the door of the cage . Birdie sees the open door . He flies out of the cage . He flies round and round the room . He is happy . David has a pet , too . He has a cat . Her name is Mimi . She eats fish and drinks milk . She eats birds , too . She is a naughty（顽皮） cat . Mimi goes into the living room . Birdie is on the television . Mimi sees him . She jumps on to the chair . Birdie flies away . He flies to the top of the cupboard . Can Mimi catch Birdie ? Then Betty comes back into the room .She sees the open cage door. Betty hears a noise . “Miaow.” It is Mimi . Betty goes into the living room . She catches the cat and puts it outside . She shuts the door . Birdie is safe(安全） . Betty climbs on to a chair . “Good Birdie,” she says. “Come to Betty.” Birdie is not a good bird . He doesn’t go to Betty . Betty is not happy . Betty is clever . She puts some bird’s seed in her hand . She holds out her hand to Birdie. “Dinner time, Birdie,”she says. “Come and eat.” Birdie is hungry . He flies down to Betty’s hand. Betty puts him back in the cage and shuts the cage door . “Oh, good!” she says . “I’m happy now.”
