Period Two Read and write
Teaching aims:
1. Using the simple present tense to express simple truth
e.g. I live in China.
2. Using nouns to refer to seasons
e.g. In winter, it is sunny,windy,cold and dry.
3. Using adjectives to describe weather
e.g. In autumn,it is sunny,windy,cool and dry.
Emotion aims:通过书信往来，增强人与人之间的友谊。
Teaching Process:
Step One: Warming up
1. Sing a song
2. Daily talk:
A: How many months are there in a year
B: What are they
C: How many seasons are there in a year What are they
D: What’s the weather like in January
E: Where do you live
F: Where are you from
Step Two: Revision
1. Review the words of twelve months.( January, February, March.,April,
May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December
2. Review the words of the days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
3. Look at the chart, then ask: What’s the weather like It’s sunny. (rainy, cloudy, dry, wet, hot)
Step Three: Presentation
1. Show a letter
T: I’m Helen. This is my letter. It’s from Kitty. She’s my pen-friend.
2. Listen to the tape and read after it
3. Answer the questions
a. Who’s Helen’s pen-friend
b. Where does she live
c. What’s the weather like in China
d. Do you like China
e. Has she got a brother

Summer
Autumn
Winter
4. Listen to the tape again and complete the table below
5. Say some sentences:
March, April and May make Spring.
June, July and August make Summer.
September, October and November make Autumn.
December, January and February make Winter.

2. Observe and record
Draw pictures about the weather in the boxes
