Period Four Say and act
Teaching aims:
1. Asking “yes\no” questions to find out about preferences.
e.g. Do you like spring, Peter
2. Using the simple present tense to describe the four seasons:
e.g. Plants grow and grow.
3. Using adjectives to describe weather.
e. g. Very good, Kitty.
Emotion aims:激发学生热爱大自然的情感。
Teaching aids: a recording, pictures of four seasons.
Teaching Process:
Step One: Warming-up
1. Sing a song
Spring is green. Summer is hot. Autumn is gold. Winter is white.
2. Daily talk
a. How many seasons are there in a year
b. What are they
c. Which season do you like best
d. What can you see in spring
e. What’s the weather like in spring
Step Two: Revision
1. Review the words of seasons.
Spring, summer, autumn, winter.
2. Describe four seasons.
It is spring. It’s warm and wet. It’s green. I can see----. I can do----.
Step Three: Presentation
1. (Show the picture of four seasons)
T asks:
a. How many seasons are there in a year
b. What are they
c. Which season do you like best
d. What’s the weather like in spring
e. What can you see in spring
f. What can you do in spring

Warm wet Hot wet Cool dry Cold dry

2. Play the recording: Say and act.
Ps listen and follow in their books.
3. Read after the recording.
4. Divide pupils into groups of three to coninue asking and answering questions about seasons: Danny, do you like autumn Yes, autumn is nice.\ No, I don’t like summer. It’s---.
5. Groups take turns to act their dialogues in front of the class.
Step Four: Consolidation
1.Listen to the tape and read after it together.
2.Act the dialogue in front of the class.
3. Describe the spring, summer, autumn, winter.
I like spring. It’s the first season of a year. Spring is nice. It’s warm. It’s not cold. Plants grow and grow. The leaves are green. The grass is green, too. We can see many beautiful flowers. I can plant the trees. So I like it very much.
Step Five: Assignment
1.Listen to the tape and read the text for several times
2.Copy the new words and the sentences.
