1、通过简单介绍广州，让学生整体感知城市的特点，为下面谈论城市做好铺垫；2、通过游戏“猜猜森林里的动物”复习巩固句型 “There is a/an…in the …”以及自然引出本课所要掌握的句子：“There are many…in the …”通过游戏的示标能激发学生学习的热情；3、通过故事整体引出本节课的新单词，激发了学生学习的兴趣；4、让学生小组合作学习单词，体现了同学间的互帮互助，调动学生的自学兴趣和积极性。

1、通过游戏“什么单词消失”既检测了学生说单词的能力，又充分调动了学生的思维，让学生乐于参与教学活动；2、通过笔头练习检测不同层次的学生对本节课所要求掌握的内容是否达标，以便教师进行及时的指导。3、通过谈论城市和乡村，目的是让学生能把所学的知识融合运用在日常生活中，以提高他们口头表达能力。
