Many

outdoors
now.

it's
on
a
high

so
you
don't
hear
any

noise.
M:
It
sounds
like
just
the
kind
of

第二部分 阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
The
best
diet
for
you
is
the
one
that
you
can
follow
for
the
rest
of
your
life.
Most
diets
can
get
you
to
your
goal,
if
you
do
exactly
what
they
say.
The
first
thing
to
do
is
to
look
at
what
you're
doing
now.
If
it's
easier
for
you
to
see
where
you're
going
wrong
by
writing
down
what
you
eat
for
the
next
week,then
do
that.
When
you
become
familiar
with
the
foods
you
choose
to
eat
every
day,it's
easy
to
start
to
get
used
to
healthier
alternatives
and
make
better
choices.
Let's
take
a
look
at
some
common
lifestyle
choices
that
could
help
you
lose
weight
easily.
Got
a
soda
habit
Drink
a
lot
of
soda
or
fruit
juices
Substitute
water
and
tea
instead.
Studies
show
that
just
this
one
substitution
can
help
you
drop
20
pounds
in
a
year.
Spending
a
lot
of
time
buying
fast
food
Avoid
anything
that
you
can
get
through
a
window.
Bring
your
lunch
instead.
Home
cooking
almost
automatically
guarantees
a
meal
that's
lower
in
fat
and
calories
than
anything
you
could
get
through
a
window.
Never
finish
a
meal
without
grease(油脂)
on
your
hands
Deep-fried
foods
are
loaded
with
calories
and
fat.
Fry
in
a
little
olive
oil,instead.
Always
having
a
lot
of
sauces
If
you're
ordering
sandwiches
with
special
sauce
or
mayo,then
you're
eating
a
lot
more
calories
and
fat
grams
than
you
think
you
are.
Some
sauces
can
add
more
than
20
grams
of
fat,and
hundreds
of
calories
to
your
lunch.
Mustard
(芥末)
is
a
good
alternative.
It's
flavorful,
and
has
virtually
no
calories
or
fat.
Take
a
look
at
what
you're
doing,
and
make
changes
you
can
live
with.
21.According

good
idea
of
different
foods
is
necessary.

cooking

more
delicious

tastes
bad

The

What
little
we

about
the

So
maybe
it's

a

the

Scientist
David
Stevenson
says
we
should
forget
about
drilling
holes.
Instead,
we
should
open
a
crack
(裂缝).
Stevenson
suggests
digging
a
crack
about
a
half
mile
long,
a
yard
wide,
and
a
half
mile
deep
but
with
an
explosion
on

Next,
he'd
pour
a

iron
into
the
crack,
along
with
a
robot.
The
iron,
thicker
than
the
surrounding
crust,
would
move
downward
at
about
16
feet
per
second,
carrying
the
robot
with
it
and
opening
the
crack
deeper
and
deeper.
The
iron
mass
would
drop
for
about
a
week
and
2,000
miles
to
the
outer
edge
of
the
earth
core,
the
robot
sending
out
data
to
the
surface.
Stevenson
compares
his
idea
to
space
exploration.
“We're
going
somewhere
we
haven't
been
before,”
he
says,“In
all
possibility,
there
will
be
surprises.”
This
idea
can
probably
be
put
in
the
drawer
marked
with
isn't
Going

The
robot
would
have
to
survive
temperatures
that
would

anything.
But
Stevenson's
idea
may
inspire
a
new
look
at
an
old
problem.
Great
things
can
come
from
what
seems
like
impossible
ideas.
32.Going
inside
the
earth
is
________
than
going
into
space.
A.
more

B.
more
possible
C.

D.

答案与解析:D 从第一段的第二句看出与探索太空相比较,地下面相对闭塞,要具有挑战性。
33.

A.6
miles.
B.4,000

答案与解析:C 从第二段的Russian
scientists
dug
the
deepest

bottomed
out
at
about
7.5

below
the

第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Although
many
Chinese
students
say
that
their
knowledge
of
English
grammar
is
good,
most
would
admit
that
their
spoken
English
is
poor.
Whenever
I
speak
to
a
Chinese
student,they
always
say,“My
spoken
English
is
poor.”
__36__
I
would
like
to
suggest
that
there
may
be
some
reasons
for
their
problems
with
spoken
English.
First,they
fail
to
find
suitable
words
to
express
themselves
due
to
a
limited
vocabulary.
__37__
However,
you
can
speak
with
a
limited
vocabulary,if
you
choose
a
positive
attitude.
Others
will
follow
you
as
long
as
you
use
the
words
that
you
know.
__38__
Sometimes
they
make
mistakes
when
they
are
speaking
because
they
are
shy
and
nervous.
Yet
students
should
remember
that
their
goal
should
be
FLUENCY
NOT
ACCURACY.
Your
aim
in
writing
is
to
be
accurate
following
the
rules
for
grammar
and
using
the
right
words
and
spelling
them
correctly.
However,in
speaking
your
aim
is
fluency.
You
want
to
get
your
message
across,to
talk
to
someone
in
English,
as
quickly
and
as
well
as
you
can,
even
though
sometimes
you
may
use
a
wrong
word
or
tense,
but
it
doesn't
matter.
__39__
The
third
reason
is
that
not
enough
attention
is
paid
to
listening.
You
have
one
mouth
but
two
ears!
All
that
hearing
is
necessary
for
you
to
start
speaking.
Fourth,most
Chinese
students
are
reactive
rather
than
proactive
language
learners.
Instead
of
actively
seeking
out
opportunities
to
improve
their
spoken
English
they
passively
wait
for
speaking
opportunities
to
come
to
them
and
wonder
why
their
English
always
remains
poor.
__40__
A.The
person
you
are
speaking
to
will
understand
you
and
make
allowances
for
any
mistakes
he
hears.
B.They
may
try
to
avoid
making
similar
mistakes
next
time.
C.Obviously
the
better
answer
is
to
expand
their
vocabulary.
D.If
you
have
this
proactive
outlook,then
you
will
see
English
opportunities
wherever
you
go.
E.However,
their
spoken
English
does
not
have
to
remain“poor”!
F.Second,they
are
afraid
of
making
mistakes.
G.The
second
reason
lies
in
the
reluctance
of
using
what
has
just
been
learned.

extreme,

It
is
when
such
a
reaction
__57__

to
stress,
that
health
becomes
__58__.
Such
serious
conditions
as
high
blood
pressure
and
heart
diseases
have
__59__
links
with
stress.
__60__
we
cannot
remove
stress
from
our
lives
we
need
to
find
ways
to
deal
with
it.
It
would
be
unwise
to
do
so
even
if
we

Boy!
How
quickly
technology
changes!
So
many
people
have

W:

W:
Can

I
just
ran

M:
I'm
no
expert,but
that
noise
in
your
fridge
doesn't
sound
good.
Maybe
you
should
call
and
have
it
checked
out.
W:
You're
right,and
I
suppose
I've
put
it
off
long
enough.

W:
What

M:
If
I

It

That's
a

hours

the

I
think
she's
addicted
to
it!
M:
Nonsense!
She's
probably
just
getting
some
facts
for
her
report.
W:
No,she's
just
wasting
all
her
time
on
the
BBS
or
in
one
of
those
discussion
groups.
And
yesterday,
she
was
using
the
Internet

M:
If
you're
really
worried,
let's
go
to
get
her.
We
can
encourage
her
to

fast
M:
I
got
a
lot
of
information
on
the

Do
you
use
the
net
W:
No,I
don't.
I
think
it's
too
expensive.
M:
No,it's
not.
The
fee
is
only
one
dollar
an
hour.
W:
But
I
haven't
connected
my
computer
to
the
Internet
yet.
Can
you
tell
me
how
to
do
it
M:
All
right.
You
just
go
to
the
post
office
and
apply
for
a
website,
and
then
you
can
use
it.
You
pay
the
fee
every
month
just
as
you

W:
Thank
you
very
much.
I
think
I
will
do
it.

just
my

I
need
someone
to
wash
my

and
fix
my
lunch,
too.
W:
Is
that
all
M:
Well,it
would
be
nice
if
they
could

says,
“There

On
November

parents
and
computer

答案:1-5 ABAAC 6-10 ACCAA
11-15 BCBAA 16-20 CACBC
第二部分 阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
It's
true
that
teens
don't
get
enough
sleep,but
changing
the
school
starting
time
would
have
a
chaotic
effect
and
throw
everyone
off
balance.
Scientists
have
shown
that
teens
are
more
active
later
at
night
than
children
and
adults,
so
most
teens
are
probably
staying
up
late
for
whatever
reasons.
“The
researchers
measured
the
presence
of
the
sleep-promoting
hormone
(荷尔蒙)
in
teenagers'
saliva
(唾液)
at
different
time
of
the
day.”
They
learned
that
the
hormone
levels
rise
later
at
night
than
they
do
in
children
and
adults—and
remain
at
a
higher
level
later
in
the
morning.
Measuring
the
hormone
in
the
saliva
is
a
good
way
to
show
that
most
teens
have
sleep
problems,
but
changing
school
schedules
isn't
the
best
way
to
fix
this.
Most
people
arguing
against
changing
school
schedules
would
say
that
it
would
only
cause
teens
to
stay
up
and
wake
up
later,
thus
leaving
them
with
the
same
problem.
The
biggest
problem
schools
would
come
across
from
changing
their
schedules
would
be
the
after-school
sports
and
job
conflicts
students
and
teachers
would
meet.
“Teachers
reported
that
students
were
more
alert,
and
research
showed
that
after-school
sports
and
jobs
would
suffer.”
Students
in
that
area
might
have
been
able
to
deal
with
less
time
for
jobs
and
sports
somehow,
but
some
of
them
have
practice
and
earlier
plans
that
would
become
conflicted
if
this
change
were
to
occur.
Most
students
rarely
have
time
to
play
a
sport
and
do
homework
before
9
or
10
o'clock.
Opening
schools
later
may
have
worked
for
some
areas,
but
the
reality
is
often
very
different.
21.The
meaning
of
the
underlined
word
“chaotic”
in
the
first
paragraph
is
close
to
“________”.
A.positive
B.apparent
C.negative
D.absurd
答案与解析:C 词义猜测题。根据文章第二段最后两句以及第三段首句的内容可知,改变学校的上课时间会产生负面影响,故此处chaotic意思同negative。
22.Most
teens
have
sleep
problems
because
________.
A.they
are
more
active
than
children
and
adults
B.school
work
takes
up
most
of
their
time
C.their
hormone
levels
are
higher
later
at
night
D.they
probably
like
staying
up
for
no
reason
答案与解析:C 细节理解题。由文章第二段中的内容可知:大多数青少年有睡眠方面的问题是由于他们体内促进睡眠的荷尔蒙含量到深夜才升高。
23.Which
of
the
following
is
TRUE
according
to
the
passage
A.There
are
many
conflicts
between
students
and
teachers.
B.Some
of
the
teachers
have
practice
and
earlier
plans.
C.Most
students
are
able
to
do
sports
and
homework
before
9:00.
D.
Ways
to
solve
students'
sleep
problem
vary
from
area
to
area.
答案与解析:D 细节理解题。根据第三段最后一句可得知,解决青少年睡眠不足的问题采取的措施因地区而不同。
24.The
passage
mainly
develops
by
________.
A.giving
reasons
B.showing
examples
C.comparing
facts
D.offering
solutions
答案与解析:A 推理判断题。由文章内容可知,这篇文章首先提出观点,然后阐述各个方面的原因,写作方法应是A项。
B
I
travel
a
lot,
and
I
find
out
different
“styles”
of
directions
every
time
I
ask
“How
can
I
get
to
the
post
office”.
Foreign
tourists
are
often
confused
in
Japan
because
most
streets
there
don't
have
names.
In
Japan,
people
use
landmarks
(地标)
in
their
directions
instead
of
street
names.
For
example,
the
Japanese
will
say
to
travelers,
“Go
straight
down
to
the
corner.
Turn
left
at
the
big
hotel
and
go
past
a
fruit
market.
The
post
office
is
across
from
the
bus
stop.”
In
the
countryside
of
the
American
Midwest,
there
are
not
usually
many
landmarks.
There
are
no
mountains,so
the
land
is
very
flat;
in
many
places
there
are
no
towns
or
buildings
within
miles.
Instead
of
landmarks,people
will
tell
you
directions
and
distances.
In
Kansas
or
Iowa,
for
example,
people
will
say,
“Go
north
two
miles.
Turn
east,and
then
go
another
mile.”
People
in
Los
Angeles,California,
have
no
idea
of
distance
on
the
map;
they
measure
distance
in
time,
not
miles.
“How
far
away
is
the
post
office?”
you
ask.
“Oh,”
they
answer,
“it's
about
five
minutes
from
here.”
You
say,
“Yes,
but
how
many
miles
away
is
it?”
They
don't
know.
It's
true
that
a
person
doesn't
know
the
answer
to
your
question
sometimes.
What
happens
in
such
a
situation
A
New
Yorker
might
say,
“Sorry,
I
have
no
idea.”
But
in
Yucatan,
Mexico,no
one
answers
“I
don't
know.”
People
in
Yucatan
believe
that
“I
don't
know”
is
impolite.
They
usually
give
an
answer,often
a
wrong
one.
A
tourist
can
get
very,
very
lost
in
Yucatan!
25.When
a
tourist
asks
the
Japanese
the
way
to
a
certain
place,
they
usually
________.
A.describe
the
place
carefully
B.show
him
a
map
of
the
place
C.tell
him
the
names
of
the
streets
D.refer
to
recognizable
buildings
and
places
答案与解析:D 细节理解题。根据文章第二段第二句:“In
Japan,
people
use
landmarks(地标)in
their
directions
instead
of
street
names”和接下来所列举的事例可知:日本人用可辨认的建筑物指路。故选D项。
26.People
in
Yucatan
may
give
a
tourist
a
wrong
answer
________.
A.in
order
to

food
is
a
simple,
low cost
way
to
keep
food
safe
for
eating.
A
piece
of
equipment

is
a
good
way
to
dry
food.
The

solar
dryer
is
called
the

dryer.It
has
a
cover
made
of
clear
glass
or
plastic.
When
the

shines
into
the

produced.
The
heat
is
trapped

fall
through.
Air
that
comes
in
from
below
the
wire
surface
will
also
carry
away
water
evaporated(蒸发)from
the
food
as
it
dries.
A
direct
dryer
will
dry
most
vegetables
in
two and one half
to
four
hours
at
temperatures
from
43℃
to
63℃.
Fruits
take
longer,from

根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Muzak
The
next
time
you
go
into
a
bank,
a
store,
or
a
supermarket,
stop
and
listen.
What
do
you
hear
__36__
It's
similar
to
the
music
you
listen
to,
but
it's
not
exactly
the
same.
That's
because
this
music
was
especially
designed
to
relax
you,
or
to
give
you
extra
energy.
Sometimes
you
don't
even
realize
the
music
is
playing,
but
you
react
to
the
music
anyway.
Quiet
background
music
used
to
be
called
“elevator
(电梯)
music”
because
we
often
heard
it
in
elevators.
But
lately
we
hear
it
in
more
and
more
places,
and
it
has
a
new
name
“Muzak”.
About
one-third
of
the
people
in
America
listen
to
“Muzak”
every
day.
The
music
plays
for
15
minutes
at
a
time,
with
short
pauses
in
between.
It
is
always
more
lively
between
ten
and
eleven
in
the
morning,
and
between
three
and
four
in
the
afternoon,
when
people
are
more
tired.
__37__
If
you
listen
to
Muzak
carefully,
you
will
probably
recognize
the
names
of
many
of
the
songs.
Some
musicians
or
songwriters
don't
want
their
songs
to
be
used
as
Muzak,
but
others
are
happy
when
their
songs
are
chosen.
Why
__38__
Music
is
often
played
in
public
places
because
it
is
designed
to
make
people
feel
less
lonely
when
they
are
in
an
airport
or
a
hotel.
It
has
been
proven
that
Muzak
does
what
it
is
designed
to
do.
Tired
office
workers
suddenly
have
more
energy
when
they
hear
the
pleasant
sound
of
Muzak
in
the
background.
__39__
Supermarket
shoppers
buy
38
percent
more
groceries.
__40__
They
say
it's
boring
to
hear
the
same
songs
all
the
time.
But
other
people
enjoy
hearing
Muzak
in
public
places.
They
say
it
helps
them
relax
and
feel
calm.
One
way
or
another,
Muzak
affects
everyone.
Some
farmers
even
say
their
cows
give
more
milk
when
they
hear
Muzak!
A.Some
people
don't
like
Muzak.
B.The
music
gives
them
extra
energy.
C.Music
is
playing
in
the
background.
D.Factory
workers
produce
13
percent
more.
E.Muzak
tends
to
help
people
understand
music
better.
F.They
get
as
much
as
$4
million
a
year
if
their
songs
are
used.
G.Muzak

in

范文:
Dear_Tom,
Last_Friday,_I_took_part_in_the_Coming of Age_ceremony_in_our_school,_which_was_quite_a_meaningful_occasion_in_my_life.
Formally
dressed,
we
gathered
at
the
school
auditorium
at
2
p.m.,
waiting
for
the
great
moment
to
come.
On
the
stage
sat
our
beloved
teachers
and
some
parents.
At
the
beginning,
our
president
and
a
parent
delivered
their
congratulations
and
best
wishes
to
us.
We
could
feel
both
their
love
and
expectations.
Then
two
students,
representing
us,
expressed
our
gratitude
and
determination
to
take
on
responsibilities.
The
most
moving
moment
came
when
we
were
given
the
letters
from
parents.
Tears
rolled
down
my
face
as
I
read,
recalling
each
memorable
moment
in
my
life
and
feeling
the
everlasting
love
from
my
parents.
At
the
end
of
the
ceremony,
we
took
a
vow.
All
of
us
promised
to
try
our
best,
not
only
for
ourselves
as
adults,
but
also
for
our
families
and
our
society.
The
Coming of Age

Hello,everybody.
My
name
is
Lucy
Green,and
I
stand
before
all
of
you
today
in
the
hope
that
you
will
choose
me
to
be
your
president.
There
are
several
reasons
why
I
think
I
am
fit
for
the
position
of
president
of
the
Students'
Union.
First
of
all,
I
have
been
given
many
leadership
roles
before,
such
as
captain
of
the
girls'
volleyball
team,
editor
of
the
school
magazine,
and
secretary
of
the
environmental
club.
So
I
know
how
to
get
along
with
different
students
and
members.
Secondly,I
am
a
good
listener.
I
am
willing
to
listen
to
any
problems
and
complaints,
and
then
do
what
I
can
to
solve
them.
Thirdly,
if
I
am
elected
president,
I
am
willing
to
give
up
all
my
other
activities
so
that
I
can
focus
on
my
duties
as
president.
I
have
been
in
the
environmental
club
for
three
years
now,but
I
am
willing
to
give
up
the
club
if
I
get
elected.
In
other
words,
I
will
put
my
heart
into
my
duties
if
I
am
elected
president,
and
I
will
not
make
you
disappointed.
Think
wisely
on
the
day
of
elections
and
vote
for
me.
You
will
not
regret
it.

第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
Scientists
have
learned
a
lot
about
the
kinds
of
food
people
need.
They
say
that
there
are
several
kinds
of
food
that
people
should
eat
every
day.They
are:
(1)
green
and
yellow
vegetables
of
all
kinds;
(2)
citrus(柑桔)
fruits
and
tomatoes;
(3)
potatoes
and
other
fruits
and
vegetables;
(4)
meat
of
all
kinds,
fish
and
eggs;
(5)
milk
and
foods
made
from
milk;
(6)
bread
or
cereal(谷类),
rice
is
also
in
this
kind
of
food;
(7)
butter,
or
something
like
butter.
People
in
different
countries
and
different
places
of
the
world
eat
different
kinds
of
things.
Foods
are
cooked
and
eaten
in
many
different
kinds
of
ways.
People
in
different
countries
eat
at
different
times
of
the
day.
In
some
places
people
eat
once
or
twice
a
day;
in
other
countries
people
eat
three
or
four
times
a
day.
Scientists
say
that
none
of
the
differences
is
really
important.
It
doesn't
matter
whether
foods
are
eaten
raw(生的)
or
cooked,
canned
or
frozen.
It
doesn't
matter
if
a
person
eats
dinner
at
4
o'clock
in
the
afternoon
or
at
eleven
o'clock
at
night.
The
important
thing
is
what
you
eat
every
day.
There
are
two
problems,
then,
in
feeding
the
large
number
of
people
on
earth.
The
first
is
to
find
some
ways
to
feed
the
world's
population
so
that
no
one
is
hungry.
The
second
is
to
make
sure
that
people
everywhere
have
the
right
kinds
of
food
to
make
them
grow
to
be
strong
and
healthy.
文章第一段叙述人们每天必需的七类食品;第二段说明了最重要的是吃的是什么;最后一段介绍了要解决的两个问题。

60 year old
Kraus
went
into
the
hospital
for
an
operation,
on
his
brain
to
control
the
shaking.
But
he
had
a
stroke(中风).
He
was
paralyzed.
The
doctors
said,“You
may
never
walk
again
and
you
might
not
even
be
able
to
talk.”
Kraus
found
that
he
couldn't
lift
a
fork
or
take
a
drink
by
himself.
Physical
treatment
was
so
painful
and
slow.
What
did
he
have
to
live
for
So
Kraus
held
the
gun
against
his
head.
Feeling
the
cold
metal
on
his
skin,
he
began
to
consider
the
pain
he
would
cause
for
his
wife,
daughters
and
grandchildren.
He
didn't
pull
the
trigger(扳机).
Andrew
Garud,
his
exercise
physiologist(生理学家),
told
him,“You
are
where
you
are.
The
pace
would
be
slow;
the
pain
would
be
real.
But
as
long
as
you
are
alive,
you
have
the
ability
to
get
better.”
After
three
months
of
working
with
Garud,
Kraus
wanted
to
see
if
he
could
stand.
He
could.
Then
he
took
three
steps,sat
down
and
cried
like
a
baby.
One
step,
as
they
say,
led
to
another.
Next
he
managed
a
short
walk
along
the
edge
of
a
boxing
ring(拳击台)
in
the
health
club.
It
was
the
hardest
fight
of
Kraus's
life.
People
at
the
gym
cheered
him
on.
Garud
kept
saying
he
could
do
more.
Now,
Kraus
can
brush
his
teeth,
shave
himself,
and
get
around
the
house
with
a
walker.
Only
the
paralyzed
can
fully
understand
little
triumphs.
24.According

did
Andrew
Garud

in

D
Although
heat
wasn't
an
issue
at
first,
as
it
would
become
later,
coming
from
New
York
to
India
would
shock
any
foreign
tourists.
Quickly,
however,
I
noticed
how
nice
and
helpful
everyone
was
to
us.
The
guest
house
we
stayed
in
was
full
of
people
willing
to
help.
The
other
two
volunteers
also
helped
to
calm
my
nerves
about
being
in
India
so
far
away
from
my
home.
After
the
first
few
days
I
was
eager
to
get
to
Bal
Ashram.
Upon
getting
to
Bal
Ashram,
I
was
able
to
meet
the
boys,
who
called
Bal
Ashram
their
home.
The
center
itself
helps
to
rescue
boys
from
child
labor
in
various
areas
of
India
and
give
them
a
jump-start
into
education
for
free
where
they
will
then
return
to
their
families
and
continue
their
education.
They
are
taught
that
without
education
there
can
be
no
future.
Through
education,
Bal
Ashram
also
builds
a
sense
of
community
which
can
be
seen
with
everyone
who
works
and
is
taught
here.
Teaching
English
here
to
the
children
gave
me
great
pride
in
knowing
that
these
children
would
be
helped
within
their
own
experiences
here
at
Bal
Ashram
and
their
future
lives.
Each
child
was
always
willing
to
learn
more.
Boys
there
were
always
seen
laughing.
Afternoon
sports
and
nightly
social
events,
including
dancing,
were
just
one
of
the
many
highlights
with
me
and
the
children.
Even
my
inner
life
was
enriched,
let
alone
theirs.
Living
in
Bal
Ashram
also
gave
us
a
first
hand
view
of
village
life
in
India
as
well
as
the
culture
and
religion
that
surrounds
this
country.
My
time
spent
at
Bal
Ashram
was
one
I
will
never
forget.
Through
the
simplicity
and
life
of
the
people
and
the
children
who
are
full
of
innocence
and
joy,
I
have
taken
with
me
so
much
more
than
when
I
arrived.

Hi,_Grown up,

The
problem

is
common
among
our

However,
it
should
be
wise
not
to
do
anything
that
may

Here
are
a
few
suggestions.
First,
it's
advisable
to
talk
more
with
your

Heart to heart
talks
help
you
understand
each

better.
They
are
also
opportunities
to
let
her
know
your
ideas
and
attitudes
toward
many
things.
Second,
you
should
learn
to
do
your

proving
to

that
you
are

a
“grown up”.
It's
even
better
if
you

of

as

I'm

a

We
have
a
very
tight
timetable,but
as
I
happen
to

here,
I
thought
I
might
take
a
couple
of
hours
off
to
see
an
old

W:
I
am
glad
you
did.
I
must
apologize
for
sounding
so
rude
just
now
for
I
was
completely
taken
by
surprise.
You
should
have
warned
me
that
you
were
coming.
Well,the
most
important
thing
is
that
you
are
here.
What
have
you
been
doing
so
far
M:
As
I
just
mentioned,
I'm
with
a
tourist
group
of
old
classmates,
one
of
whom
happens
to
be
working
for
the
tourist
company.
As
most
of
us
have
already
been
to
the
southeastern
Asian
countries
and
some
have
never
been
to
Europe,
our
tourist
friend
arranged
this
trip
for
us
at
a
special
reduced
rate.
W:
How
lucky
for
you!
Is
it
your
first
trip
here
How
have
you
found
it
M:
Actually
I've
been
here
before,
some
years
ago
on
a
business
trip,
working
for
a
government
organization,
so
I've
already
done
most
of
my
sight-seeing
in
London
and
that's
why
I
have
some
free
time
to
myself
this
time.
W:
Good.
Now,tell
me,what
do
you
most
like
to
see
or
do
M:
Well,
I
don't
know
really,
I've
already
seen
the
most
famous
historical
sites
and
scenic
spots,
and
most
impressive
as
they
are,
they
don't
tell
me
much
about
the
real
ordinary
English
people
and
the
country.
W:
I
see
what
you
mean.
I'll
drive
you
to
the
countryside
to
eat
at
a
local
pub
tomorrow
and
perhaps
you'll
see
something
of
the
old
England,though
I
must
admit
there
is
not
much
old
England
left
by
now.
Many
old
village
shops
are
closed
and
the
village
schools
too.
But
you'll
find
the
people
in
the
countryside
more
friendly
and
relaxed.

第二部分 阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
From
the
first
use
of
the
rocket
to
carry
satellites
into
space
to
the
setting
up
of
space
stations,
human
beings
have
been
putting
great
effort
into
space
research.
And
so
far,we
have
achieved
many
successes.
But
there
are
still
numerous
tasks
in
front
of
us
and
we
should
not
cease
trying
to
progress.
The
international
space
station
is
an
important
step
we
should
take
in
space
exploration.
It
is
not
only
helpful
but
also
essential.
It
provides
a
proper
space
environment
for
many
experiments
that
we
have
wanted
to
do
for
a
long
time.
It
is
also
a
base
for
observations
of
the
earth
and
the
universe.
It
could
also
be
an
important
base
for
later
travel
to
the
moon
and
Mars.
In
a
word,if
we
want
to
explore
space
more,
the
first
thing
we
should
do
is
to
set
up
a
space
station.
As
the
space
station
costs
a
lot
of
money,it
is
hard
for
one
country
alone
to
establish
one.
The
US
seems
to
be
the
only
country
that
has
the
ability
to
build
a
space
station
alone,and
it
has
tried
to
do
so,but
not
very
successful.
So
it
aggregated
many
other
countries
to
work
on
it
together.
Though
it
is
still
extremely
expensive,
it
is
much
cheaper
than
doing
it
alone.
It
is
really
a
job
that
needs

But
even
so,the

As

seems
that
it

many
things

Although
it

it

It
has
to

about
its
finance,
and
try
to
find
a
balance
in
all
these
issues.

B
Memory,
they
say,
is
a
matter
of
practice
and
exercise.
If
you
have
the
wish
and
really
make
a
conscious
effort,
then
you
can
quite
easily
improve
your
ability
to
remember
things.
But
even
if
you
are
successful,
there
are
times
when
your
memory
seems
to
play
tricks
on
you.
Sometimes
you
remember
things
that
really
did
not
happen.
One
morning
last
week,
for
example,
I
got
up
and
found
that
I
had
left
the
front
door
unlocked
all
night,
yet
I
clearly
remembered
locking
it
carefully
the
night
before.
Memory
“tricks”
work
the
other
way
as
well.
Once
in
a
while
you
remember
not
doing
something
and
then
find
out
that
you
did.
One
day
last
month,
for
example,
I
was
sitting
in
a
barbershop
waiting
for
my
turn
to
get
a
haircut,and
suddenly
I
realized
that
I
had
got
a
haircut
two
days
before
at
the
barbershop
across
the
street
from
my
office.
We
always
seem
to
find
something
funny
and
amusing
in
incidents
caused
by
people's
forgetfulness
or
absent-mindedness.
Stories
about
absent-minded
professors
have
been
told
for
years,
and
we
never
get
tired
of
hearing
new
ones.
Unfortunately,
however,
absent-mindedness
is
not
always
funny.
There
are
times
when
“tricks”
of
our
memory
can
cause
us
great
trouble.
25.If
you
want
to
have
a
good
memory,you
should
________.
A.force
yourself
to
remember
things
B.make
a
conscious
effort
of
practice
and
exercise
C.never
stop
learning
D.try
hard
to
remember
things
答案与解析:B 细节理解题。由第一段第二句“If
you
have
the
wish
and
really
make
a
conscious
effort,
...”可知,如果你想有一个好的记忆力的话,你应该有意识地进行练习和训练。
26.What
can
we
infer
from
the
last
paragraph
A.Absent-mindedness
stories
can
bring
people
fun.
B.Absent-mindedness
is
more
troublesome
than
forgetfulness.
C.Absent-minded
professors
are
often
amused
by
the
incidents,
too.
D.Absent-mindedness
happens
not
only
to
professors
but
to
all
other
people.
答案与解析:A 推理判断题。由第四段第一句“We
always
seem
to
find
something
funny
...by
people's
forgetfulness
or
absent-mindedness”可知,有关健忘及心不在焉的故事可以带来乐趣。
27.Which

this
passage
A.The
Key
to
a
Good
Memory
B.“Tricks”
of
Memory
C.The

Beth.
“Wugging

it

Wugging

第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
While
it
is
impossible
to
live
completely
free
of
stress,
it
is
possible
to
prevent
stress
as
well
as
reduce
its
effect
when
it
can't
be
avoided.
The
US
Department
of
Health
and
Human
Services
offers
the
following
suggestions
for
ways
to
deal
with
stress.
Try
physical
activity
When
you
are
nervous,
angry
or
upset,
try
releasing
the
pressure
through
exercise
or
physical
activity.
Running,
walking,
playing
tennis,
or
working
in
your
garden
are
just
some
of
the
activities
you
might
try.
__36__
Your
body
and
your
mind
will
work
together
to
ease
the
stress
in
your
life.
Share
your
stress
It
helps
to
talk
to
someone
about
your
anxieties
and
worries.
Perhaps
a
friend,
family
member,
teacher
or
even
your
leader
can
help
you
get
a
better
view
of
what's
troubling
you.
If
you
feel
your
problem
is
serious,
you
might
seek
professional
help
from
a
psychologist
or
a
doctor.
__37__
Take
care
of
yourself
You
should
make
every
effort
to
eat
well
and
get
enough
rest.
If
you
easily
get
angry
and
cannot
sleep
well
enough,
or
if
you're
not
eating
properly,
it
will
be
more
likely
that
you
will
fall
into
stressful
situations.
If
stress
repeatedly
keeps
you
from
sleeping,
you
should
consult
a
doctor.
Make
time
for
yourself
Schedule
time
for
both
work
and
entertainment.
Don't
forget,
play
can
be
just
as
important
to
you
over-all
well-being
as
work.
You
need
a
break
from
your
daily
routine
to
just
relax
and
have
fun.
Go
window-shopping
or
work
on
a
hobby.
__38__
Make
a
list
of
the
things
you
need
to
do
Stress
can
result
from
disorganization
and
a
feeling
that
“there's
so
much
to
do,
and
not
enough
time”.
Trying
to
take
care
of
everything
at
once
can
be
too
much
for
you
and
as
a
result,
you
may
not
achieve
anything.
Instead,
make
a
list
of
everything
you
have
to
do,
then
do
one
thing
at
a
time,
checking
off
each
task
as
it
is
completed.
__39__
Go
ahead
and
cry
__40__
It
might
even
help
you
avoid
a
headache
or
other
physical
effects
of
anxiety
and
stress.
A.Do
what
you
want
to
do.
B.Allow
yourself
at
least
a
half
hour
each
day
to
do
something
you
enjoy.
C.Physical
exercise
will
relieve
your
anxiety
and
worry
and
help
you
to
relax.
D.Knowing
who
to
ask
for
help
is
an
important
step
in
avoiding
serious
problems
later.
E.Set
out
to
do
the
most
important
tasks
first.
F.A
good
cry
can
be
a
healthy
way
to
bring
relief
to
your
anxiety.
G.Laugh
when
you
want
to.

答案与解析:
41.D 此处应该是指新的“邻居”,因此答案选neighbours,而不是fellows“伙伴”。friends,relatives也不符合情理。
42.C 由“weren't
very
welcoming”以及“we
should
return
where
we
came
from”可知,邻居们对我们很不友好,因此答案选C。
43.B 从第一段中“I
was
twelve
years
old”以及下文内容可推知,向“我”扔石头的应该是“孩子”,所以答案选B。
44.A 由“drove
me
home”以及下文内容可知,他们把“我”从学校赶回家,因此答案选A。
45.B 依据下文内容可知,Miss
Bean对“我”很好,而其他大多数老师都不理会“我”,故答案选B。其他三个选项与take
no
notice
of连用时,不符合语境。
46.D 联系上文可知,此处指Miss
Bean对别人如此恶劣地对待“我”感到很生气,因此答案选D。
47.C 从下文“Instead
of
being
unnoticed,I
was
given...”可推知,Miss
Bean对“我”表示尊重,因此答案选C。
48.A 此处是指Miss
Bean像教其他任何人一样教“我”,所以答案选A。
49.B 从“to
show
that
I
was
smart”可知此处应该是指老师给“我”一个机会,因此答案选B,而不是question“问题”,test“测试”,place“位置”。
50.D 由下句“She
insisted
on
knowing
what
I
thought
about
difficult
questions.”可推断,此处表示Miss
Bean让“我”独立思考,因此答案选D。下文中“thinking
for
yourself”也有暗示。
51.C 结合全文语境及历史知识可知,此处指托马斯·杰斐逊从法国人手里购买路易斯安那地区的做法是否正确,故答案选C。
52
D 依据语境,Miss
Bean鼓励“我”独立思考的目的是期望(expected)“我”有自己的观点,所以答案选D。
53.A 根据语境,这里表示“能够支持自己的观点”,故答案选A,back
up“支持,有助于”。而不是set
up“建立”;put
up“举起”;give
up“放弃”。
54.B 联系上下文内容可知,此处表示“独立思考是教育的关键”,所以答案选B。
55.B 由下文“the
eraser
hit
me
right
on
the
hand”可推知,这里表示Miss
Bean把一个黑板擦朝“我”扔过来,故答案为B。
56.A 表示某物处于某种状态,应用“send
sth.
doing”,因此答案选A。考生易误选C,但make的主语通常是人。
57.D 由“and
then
started
laughing”可推知,学生对老师的举动一开始感到非常吃惊(shocked),而不是excited“兴奋的”,frightened“害怕的”,worried“担心的”。因此答案选D。
58.C 前后句存在因果关系,因此答案选C。
59.B 既然“This
incident
became
famous”以及“it
happened
to
me”,所以学生开始认识“我”,故答案选B。
60.A 依据上下文内容可知,此处是指“我”是如何成为学校里与以前不同的学生,因此答案选A,也与前文“I
was
twelve
years
old”相照应。

Mm.
Let
me
think.
I
know
just
the
person.
A
former
college
classmate
of
mine,
Jim
Thomas
is
coming
to
do
some
research
this
summer,
from
June
to
August.
W:
That's
exactly
when
I'll
be
away.
That
sounds
great.
M:
I'll
call
Jim
this
weekend
anyway,
so
I'll
mention
it
to
him
then.
W:
Thanks
a
lot.
Please
let
me
know
what
happens.

W:
My
favourite
subject
at
school
was
maths.
I
enjoyed
solving
problems,
and
was
interested
in
teaching
methods.
But
most
of
my
friends
found
maths
very
difficult,
and
because
they
thought
it
was
a
useless
subject
they
saw
no
need
for
working
at
it.
Maths
was,
in
fact,
the
least
popular
subject
in
our
class.
During
my
last
year
at
school
our
maths
teacher's
child
was
seriously
ill
and
she
had
to
stay
with
him
in
the
hospital
for
two
weeks.
Some
students
became
very
worried
about
their
maths
exam
results.
Each
evening,
I
gave
lessons
to
three
of
my
friends,
so
that
they
would
have
a
chance
of
passing
their
examination.
I
was
patient,
and
got
good
at
explaining
things
to
people,
and
the
lessons
went
well.
My
three
friends
and
I
all
passed
the
examination.
Their
parents
offered
to
pay
me
for
the
lessons,
but
I
refused.
I
was
sorry
for
my
teacher.
I
did
not
think
it
would
be
fair
if
I
took
the
money
for
doing
my
teacher's
job.

答案与解析:D 根据The

B
When
something
goes
wrong,
it
can
be
very
satisfying
to
say,
“Well,
it's
so and so's
fault.”
or
“I
know
I'm
late,
but
it's
not
my
fault;
the
car
broke
down.”
It
is
probably
not
your
fault,
but
once
you
form
the
habit
of
blaming
somebody
or
something
else
for
a
bad
situation,
you
are
a
loser.
You
have
no
power
and
could
do
nothing
that
helps
change
the
situation.
However,
you
can
have
great
power
over
what
happens
to
you
if
you
stop
focusing
on
whom
to
blame
and
start
focusing
on
how
to
remedy
the
situation.
This
is
the
winner's
key
to
success.
Winners
are
great
at
overcoming
problems.
For
example,if
you
were
late
because
your
car
broke
down,
maybe
you
need
to
have
your
car
examined
more
regularly.
Or,
you
might
start
to
carry
along
with
you
the
useful
phone
numbers,so
you
could
call
for
help
when
in
need.
For
another
example,
if
your
colleague
causes
you
problems
on
the
job
for
lack
of
responsibility
or
ability,
find
ways
of
dealing
with
his
irresponsibility
or
inability
rather
than
simply
blame
the
person.
Ask
to
work
with
a
different
person
,or
don't
rely
on
the
person.
You
should
accept
that
the
person
is
not
reliable
and
find
creative
ways
to
work
successfully
regardless
of
how
your
colleague
fails
to
do
his
job
well.
This
is
what
being
a
winner
is
all
about—creatively
using
your
skills
and
talents
so
that
you
are
successful
no
matter
what
happens.
Winners
don't
have
fewer
problems
in
their
lives;
they
have
just
as
many
difficult
situations
to
face
as
anybody
else.
They
are
just
better
at
seeing
those
problems
as
challenges
and
opportunities
to
develop
their
own
talents.
So,
stop
focusing
on
“whose
fault
it
is”.
Once
you
are
confident
about
your
power
over
bad
situations,
problems
are
just
stepping
stop
on
for
success.
25.According
to
the
passage,
winners
________.
A.deal
with
problems
rather
than
blame
others
B.meet
with
fewer
difficulties
in
their
lives
C.have
responsible
and
able
colleagues
D.blame
themselves
rather

others

problems.和This
is
what

is
all
about—creatively

meaning

as
________.
A.excuses

Austin
Gutwein
shoots
hoops
(环)
to
raise
money
for
orphans
in
Africa.
He
once
spent
six
hours
shooting
2,057
throws.
The
marathon
effort
did
more
than
just
make
his
arms
tired—it
raised
about
$3,000
to
help
kids
in
Africa.
Four
years
later,
Austin,
13,
has
turned
his
one-kid
effort
into
Hoops
of
Hope,a
growing
nonprofit
group
with
thousands
of
participants
in
six
countries.
A
nonprofit
group
is
one
that
does
not
make
money
for
itself.
Each
Hoops
of
Hope
member
aims
to
shoot
500
to
2,057
free
throws.
Austin
chose
the
number
2,057
because
that
is
about
the
number
of
kids
in
Africa
who
are
orphaned
(成为孤儿)
by
AIDS
during
the
length
of
a
typical
school
day,
based
on
United
Nations
data.
AIDS
is
a
disease
spread
by
body
fluids.
The
disease
is
the
No.
1
cause
of
death
in
Africa.
It
kills
about
6,000
people
on
the
continent
each
day.
Free-throw
participants
collect
donations
from
their
friends
and
families.
So
far,
Austin
and
Hoops
of
Hope
have
raised
more
than
$300,000.
That
money
has
gone
toward
building
a
new
school
and
a
medical
center
in
Zambia,
a
country
in
Southern
Africa.
Austin
visited
Zambia
last
fall
to
see
the
difference
he
has
made
firsthand.
“The
kids
are
just
like
me,and
they
have
goals,and
they
have
dreams,and
they
have
a
purpose,”he
told
WR
News.
“They
were
happy
even
though
they
were
living
in
poverty.”
This
year,Austin
hopes
to
raise
enough
money
to
build
a
second
medical
center
in
Zambia.
He
and
other
Hoops
of
Hope
participants
will
hit
the
courts
on
May
16.
“You
don't
need
to
wait
to
be
an
adult
to
make
a
difference,”Austin
says.
29.Why
did
Austin
choose
to
shoot
2,057
free
throws
A.Because
he
wanted
to
set
a
new
record
of
shooting
hoops.
B.Because
it
was
the
number
of
kids
who
died
of
AIDS
in
Africa.
C.Because
2,057
kids
lose
their
parents
because
of
AIDS
every
day.
D.Because
2,057
kids
died
of
AIDS
at
school
each
day
in
Africa.
答案与解析:C 细节理解题。根据第四段的“...
because
that
is
about
the
number
of
kids
in
Africa
who
are
orphaned
by
AIDS
during
the
length
of
a
typical
school
day
...”可知,他选择这个数字是因为每天都有近2057个学生成为孤儿。
30.Austin
went
to
Zambia
last
fall
in
order
to
________.
A.find
out
what
effect
he
had
on
African
orphans
B.send
the

of
$300,000
to
orphans
himself
C.examine
the
medical
center
built
based
on
their
donations
D.find
a
suitable
place
to
build
another
medical
center
答案与解析:A 细节理解题。根据第六段的“Austin
visited
Zambia

to
see
the
difference
he
has
made
firsthand”可知,他去那里的目的是要亲自看看他的行动对于当地孩子的影响。

B.there

make
a

C.you
can't

The
meaning
of
the
word
“volunteer”
may
be
a
little
different
in
different
countries,
but
it
usually
means“one
who
offers
his
or
her
services”.
There
are
many
different
ways
in
which
people
can
volunteer,such
as
taking
care
of
sick
people,working
in
homes
for
homeless
children,
and
picking
up
the
waste
from
beaches
and
parks.
Volunteers
may
work
within
their
own
countries
or
in
other
countries.
They
are
often
people
with
a
strong
wish
to
help
those
who
are
less
fortunate
than
themselves.
Volunteers
don't
expect
any
kind
of
pay.
At
the
root
of
volunteering
is
the
idea
that
one
person
may
have
the
ability
to
offer
services
that
can
help
other
people.
Tracy
,a
good
friend
of
mine,
however,
recently
came
back
from
India
with
a
new
idea
of
what
being
a
volunteer
means.
She
worked
for
two
and
a
half
weeks
in
one
of
Mother
Teresa's
homes
in
Calcutta.
The
following
is
her
story.
“I
first
heard
about
Mother
Teresa
in
my
high
school
when
we
watched
a
video
about
her
work
in
India
and
all
over
the
world.
I
was
so
moved
by
her
spirit
to
help
others
and
her
endless
love
for
every
human
being
that
after
I
graduated
from
high
school,
I,
too,
wanted
to
try
her
kind
of
work.
So
with
two
friends
I
flew
to
Calcutta
for
a
few
weeks.”
“I
was
asked
to
work
in
a
home
for
sick
people.
I
helped
wash
clothes
and
sheets,
and
pass
out
lunch.
I
also
fed
the
people
who
were
too
weak
to
feed
themselves
and
tried
to
cheer
them
up.
I
felt
it
was
better
to
share
with
them
than
to
think
that
I
have
helped
them.
To
be
honest,I
don't
think
I
was
helping
very
much.
It
was
then
that
I
realized
that
I
had
not
only
come
to
help,but
also
to
learn
about
and
experience
another
culture
that
helped
improve
my
own
understanding
of
life
and
the
world.”
33.What's
the

title
of
this
passage

earn
a
scholarship.
Having
been
a
Straight A

I
believed
I
could

When

but
remained

I
decided
to

harder,
although
I

because

I'd

I
had
worked
my
head
__60__,

答案与解析:
41.A 句意:由于一直是个优秀的学生,我相信我能够学习难学的课程并且真正学习到知识。表示“学习”用take。
42.B 本句中表示老师授课时表达出来的思想,应该用present,表示“呈现;表示”。
43.A 与上文的Having
been
a
Straight A
student,
I
believed...构成对比可知,当知道自己得了77分时,作者无疑是“震惊的”。
44.C 该句是下句I
went
to
Professor
Jayne的原因,故用for表示原因。
45.D 下文中的“...but
wouldn't
change
his
__48__”相对应,本句中应表示“虽然我去找Jayne教授,但他并没有被打动”,故用unmoved。unchanged表示“不改变”;unpleasant表示“不愉快的”;unfriendly表示“不友好的”;unmoved表示“冷漠的;不被打动的”。
46.B 与文章最后揭示出的Jayne教授给我打77分真实意图相呼应,该空格处应用meant,表示“意味着”。
47.B 当又得了一个77分时,“我”去找Jayne教授评理,表示“评理”用reason。quarrel表示“争吵”,用在学生与老师之间明显不妥;bargain表示“讨价还价”,与语境不符;chat表示“聊天”,自己在生气的情况下不可能去与老师“闲聊”,故三项均可排除。
48.B change表示“改变”;虽然“我”去找他评理,但教授并没有改变“主意”。故空格处须用mind。
49.C 在没法说动教授的情况下,“我”所能做的只有尽全力提高成绩,因而每一次考试都是“我”提高自己成绩的“机会”。故本题应用chance。
50.D 由于自己竭尽全力学习,“我”领悟到了“一丝不苟”的含义,表示“领悟”用learn。
51.C But一词对于本段中描述的情形是一个转折,也就是说,虽然自己付出了巨大的努力,但是考试成绩并没有改进,故本题应用effort,表示“努力”。
52.B as
before表示“像以前一样”。由第26题解析可知,该空格处用go。
53.A 最后的障碍是期末考试,而由于整个学期“我”的成绩一直是在C等,所以无论期末考试“我”得到什么等级,“我”的三个C等成绩也不会取消,所以本题应选择grade,表示“等级”。
54.A 既然成绩是C等,那么也就与奖学金无缘了,故本题应选择A项。
55.C 在对奖学金不抱什么希望且对所学的知识已经掌握很好的情况下,“我”在考试前去看了场电影,这里的看电视实际上是在“奖励”自己,故用treat,表示“款待”。
56.A for
once表示“就此一次”。因为自己屡受挫折,故而决定这次考试不再“郑重对待”,所以用have
fun
with。
57.D 由于有了前几次自己去与Jayne教授的评理,故而出了成绩后,教授“似乎在等着我”再去见他,也就是教授觉得“我”会再去找他。
58.C value表示“重视”;
imagine表示“想象”;expect表示“期望”;welcome表示“欢迎”。句意:如果我给了你所希望的A等,你就不会那样努力学习了。因此C项正确。
59.D Jayne教授说明了给“我”C等的理由,“我”也意识到了他的分析和策略是正确的,表示“意识到”用realize。
60.D work
one's
head
off表示“拼命工作,拼命学习”,是学习搭配。

I
Yes,
it
is
rather
swollen.
Does
this
hurt
W:
Yes,it
does
actually.
M:
Yes,
right,
well,
my
advice
is
that
you
should
go
to
the
hospital
and
get
it
X-rayed.
I
think
it
could
be
broken.

W:
Where
will
you
spend
your
summer
M:
Of
course
where
there
are
beaches.
W:
How
will
you
get
there,by
plane
or
by
train
M:
I
used
to
travel
by
air
to
escape
from
here.
But
this
time
I
prepare
to
take
my
holidays
by
car.
W:
Why
It
is
so
long
a
distance.
M:
Motivated
by
the
environmental
impact
of
flying.
W:
What
kind
of
effect
M:
Because
of
worries
over
their
carbon
footprint.
W:
Is
it
your
new
idea
M:
No.
More
Britons
are
planning
a
British
driving
holiday
this
summer
for
this
reason.
W:
But
you
will
pay
for
your
petrol
too.
M:
I
am
planning
to
buy
an
environmentally-friendly
car
recently.
W:
Great!
We
all
should
do
something
for
our
environment.

Hi,Tom,long

M:
Hi,when
did
you
return
to
school
W:
Yesterday.
Did
you
have
a
nice
holiday
M:
Yes,it
couldn't
have
been
better.
Thank
you.
W:
Where
did
you
go
during
the
holidays
M:
I
went
to
Scotland.
W:
Did
you
go
there
alone
M:
No.
I
went
there
with
my
parents.
We
traveled
around
in
Scotland.
We
spent
a
week
in
Edinburgh,
then
went
to
St.
Andrews.
W:
It's
said
that
the
Highlands
is
a
very
good
place
to
see.
Did
you
go
up
there
M:
No.
We
stayed
at
a
hotel
near
Loch
Lomond
for
a
few
days
and
came
back
to
London
down
the
west
coast.
W:
How
was
the
weather
when
you
were
there
M:
Quite
good,
and
everybody
was
very
kind.
People
aren't
in
such
a
hurry-up
there,you
know.
W:
You
must
have
enjoyed
your
holidays.
M:
Sure.

W:
It's
difficult
to
find
a
suitable
job
this
year.
I
have
pressure.
M:
Now
college
graduates
are
being
encouraged
to
start
their
own
businesses.
It
sounds
really
good
for
us.
We
can
get
some
valuable
social
experience,
which
will
be
helpful
for
our
future
jobs.
We
may
also
know
more
about
ourselves
and
society
better.
W:
Yes,
but
it
is
not
as
easy
as
you
imagine.
There
are
a
lot
of
problems.
The
main
difficulty
is
money.
And
our
education
doesn't
provide
enough
knowledge
on
how
to
do
it.
M:
Maybe
you
are
right.
But
our
government
allows
college
graduates
to
borrow
money
from
banks
and
maybe
some
can
get
money
from
their
parents.
W:
But
you
have
to
pay
back
the
money
sooner
or
later.
So
some
college
graduates
prefer
to
live
a
peaceful
life
rather
than
start
their
own
businesses
through
job-hunting.
It's
very
competitive.
M:
Oh,
they
don't
have
dreams.
But
I
have
made
up
my
mind.
How
about
you
W:
Well,
it
always
takes
time
to
consider
before
making
a
decision.

The
funniest
man
of
the
East
was
Jeha.
Some
people
say
that
he
was
short
and
fat.
Others
say
that
he
had
a
long
white
beard
and
nose.
Still
others
say
that
he
was
very
tall
and
thin.
But
there
is
one
thing
we
all
know:he
was
very
famous
because
of
his
funny
ways.
Jeha
lived
all
alone
in
a
funny
house.
It
had
more
windows
than
walls
because
he
liked
to
see
what
was
going
on
around
him.
Sometimes
he
even
slept
standing.
Jeha
liked
to
dress
up
in
funny
clothes
and
fool
people.
He
enjoyed
playing
tricks
on
his
friends
and
on
strangers.
Often
he
went
to
parties
when
he
was
not
asked;but
few
people
knew
that
he
was
Jeha.
Those
who
knew
him
best
were
his
neighbours
and
his
donkeys.
He
loved
both
very
much
and
was
very
kind
to
them;
If
a
neighbour
was
in
trouble,Jeha
was
the
first
to
help
him,and
everyone
knew
that
Jeha
took
very
good
care
of
his
donkeys.
Jeha
always
took
his
donkeys
to
the
nicest
green
fields
where
they
could
eat
the
soft,
sweet
grass.
One
day
Jeha
found
a
nice
green
field
which
was
very
far
from
his
home.
Jeha
thought
that
it
was
cruel
to
ride
on
his
donkeys.
So
he
walked
there
with
his
donkeys
every
day
for
the
next
week.
The
animals
grew
stronger
and
healthier,but
he
became
very
sick
and
tired.

第二部分 阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)
第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。
A
A
high
school
history
teacher
once
told
us,“If
you
make
one
close
friend
in
school,you
will
be
most
fortunate.
A
true
friend
is
someone
who
stays
with
you
for
life.”
Experience
teaches
us
that
he
was
right.
Good
friendship
is
just
not
easily
formed.
It
is
possible
that
we
simply
do
not
stay
in
one
place
long
enough
for
a
true
friendship
to
develop.
However,there
can
be
no
disagreement
on
the
need
for
each
of
us
to
think
carefully
about
the
kind
of
friendship
we
want.
To
most
of
us,friendships
are
thought
of
very
important,but
we
need
to
have
clear
in
our
minds
the
kinds
of
friendship
we
want.
Are
they
to
be
close
or
kept
at
arm's
length
Do
we
want
to
share
ourselves
or
do
we
want
to
walk
on
the
surface?For
some
people,many
friendships
on
the
surface
are
quite
enough
and
that's
all
right.
But
at
some
point,
we
need
to
make
sure
that
our
expectations
are
the
same
as
our
friends'
expectations.
The
sharing
of
personal
experience
including
our
tears
as
well
as
our
dark
dreams
is
the
surest
way
to
deepen
friendships.
But
it
must
be
undertaken(进行)slowly
and
carried
only
if
there
are
signs
of
interest
and
action
in
return.
What
are
some
of
the
difficulties
of
friendship?The
greatest
is
the
attraction
to
expect
too
much
time.
Another
great
difficulty
is
the
selfishness
to
take
action
too
soon.
Deep
relationship
does
not
mean
one
“possesses”
the
other,
including
his
time
and
attention.
In
other
words,
you
must
give
as
much
as
you
take.
Finally
there
is
a
question
of
taking
care
of
them.
If
you
don't
spend
reasonable
time
together,
talking
on
the
phone,
writing
letters,
doing
things
together,friendships
will
die
away.

B
The
poverty
line
is
the
minimum
income
that
people
need
for
an
acceptable
standard
of
living.
People
with
incomes
below
the
poverty
line
are
considered
poor.
Economists
study
the
causes
of
poverty
in
order
to
find
solutions
to
the
problem.
As
the
general
standard
of
living
in
the
country
rises,the
poverty
line
does,too.
Therefore,even
with
today's
relatively
high
standard
of
living,about
10
percent
of
the
people
in
the
United
States
are
below
the
poverty
line.
However,if
these
people
had
stable
jobs,they
could
have
an
acceptable
standard
of
living.
Economists
suggest
several
reasons
why
poor
people
do
not
have
jobs.
For
one
thing,more
than
half
of
the
poor
people
in
the
United
States
are
not
qualified
to
work.
Over
40
percent
of
the
poor
people
are
children.
By
law,children
less
than
16
years
old
cannot
work
in
many
industries.
A
large
number
of
poor
people
are
old.
Many
companies
do
not
hire
people
over
65
years
old,the
normal
retirement
age.
Some
poor
adults
do
not
look
for
jobs
for
a
variety
of
personal
reasons:they
are
sick,they
do
not
have
any
motivation,they
have
family
problems,or
they
do
not
believe
that
they
can
find
a
job.
Other
poor
people
look
for
a
job
but
cannot
find
one.
Many
poor
adults
never
went
to
high
school.
Therefore,when
they
look
for
jobs,they
have
few
skills
that
they
can
offer.
At
the
present
time,the
government
thinks
it
can
reduce
poverty
in
the
country
in
the
following
ways.
First,if
the
national
economy
grows,businesses
and
industries
hire
more
workers.
Some
of
the
poor
who
are
qualified
to
look
for
jobs
may
find
employment.
Then
they
will
no
longer
be
below
the
poverty
line.
Second,if
society
invests
in
the
poor,the
poor
will
become
more
productive.
If
the
government
spends
money
on
social
programs,education,and
training
for
poor
people,the
poor
will
have
the
skills
to
offer.
Then
it
is
more
likely
that
they
can
find
jobs.
Finally,if
the
government
distributes
society's
income
differently,it
raises
some
poor
people
above
the
poverty
line.
The
government
collects
taxes
from
the
non poor
and
gives
money
to
the
poor.
These
payments
to
the
poor
are
called
welfare.
In
1975
over
18
million
people
in
the
United
States
received
welfare.
Some
economists
are
looking
for
better
solutions
to
the
poverty
problem.
However,at
the
present
time,many
people
depend
on
welfare
for
a
minimally
acceptable
standard
of
living.
24.
The
author's
main
purpose
to
write
this
article
is
________.
A.to
define
what
the
poverty
line
is
B.to
explain
why
some
people
live
the
poverty
line
C.to
find
solutions
to
the
problem
of
poverty
D.to
show
sympathy
for
those
poor
people
答案与解析:C 意图推测题,主题句位于第一段(Economists
study
the
causes
of
poverty
in
order
to
find
solutions
to
the
problem.)。文章首先提出主题,然后围绕它作了阐述,介绍了美国贫穷人口的一些基本情况:贫困人口的特点,原因等,最后重点讲述了政府目前打算解决贫困问题的一些想法,最后又再次强调经济学家正在努力寻求更好的解决方案。所以C项正确。其他各项均不能概括全文。

C.The
poverty
line
rises
as
the
general
standard
of
living
rises.
D.The
poverty

in
the
country
rises,the
poverty
does,too,可知随着一个国家人民生活水平提高,贫困线的标准也正提高。
26.More
than
40
percent
of
the
poor
people
are
children.
This
is
mainly
because
________.
A.they
do
not
have

motivation
B.they
are
so
young
that
they
don't
have
the
right

health
答案与解析:B 细节题。由文章第三段中的By
law,children
less
than
16

old
can't
work
in
many
Industries.可以看出儿童在贫困人口中占这么大的比例,是因为美国法律没有给他们工作的权利。

C
Many
animals
recognize
their
food
because
they
see
it.
So
do
humans.
When
you
see
an
apple
or
a
piece
of
chocolate
you
know
that
these
are
things
you
can
eat.
You
can
also
use
other
senses
when
you
choose
your
food.
You
may
like
it
because
it
smells
good
or
because
it
tastes
good.
You
may
dislike
some
types
of
food
because
they
do
not
look,
smell
or
taste
very
nice.
Different
animals
use
different
senses
to
find
and
choose
their
food.
A
few
animals
depend
on
only
one
of
their
senses,
while
most
animals
use
more
than
one
sense.
Although
there
are
many
different
types
of
food,
some
animals
spend
their
lives
eating
only
one
type.
The
giant
panda
eats
only
one
particular
type
of
bamboo.
Other
animals
eat
only
one
type
of
food
even
when
given
the
choice.
A
kind
of
white
butterfly
will
stay
on
the
leaves
of
a
cabbage,
even
though
there
are
plenty
of
other
vegetables
in
the
garden.
However,
most
animals
have
a
more
varied
diet.
The
bear
eats
fruits
and
fish.
The
fox
eats
small
animals,
birds
and
fruits.
The
diet
of
these
animals
will
be
different
depending
on
the
season.
Humans
have
a
very
varied
diet.
We
often
eat
food
because
we
like
it
and
not
because
it
is
good
for
us.
In
countries
such
as
France
and
Britain,
people
eat
foods
with
too
much
sugar.
This
makes
them
overweight,
which
is
bad
for
their
health.
Eating
too
much
red
meat
and
animal
products,
such
as
butter,can
also
be
bad
for
the
health.
Choosing
the
right
food,
therefore,
has
become
an
area
of
study
in
modern
life.
28.We
can
infer
from
the
text
that
humans
and
animals
________.
A.depend
on
one
sense
in
choosing
food
B.are
not
satisfied
with
their
food
C.choose
food
in
similar
ways
D.eat
entirely
different
food
答案与解析:C 推理判断题。根据第一段可知,人用气味和味道来选择食物,动物用一种或多种感觉选择食物,从这点上人和动物是类似的。
29.Which
of
the
following
eats
only
one
type
of
food
A.The
white
butterfly.
B.The
small
bird.
C.The
bear.
D.The
fox.
答案与解析:A 细节理解题。根据第二段“A
kind
of
white
butterfly
will
stay
on
the
leaves
of
a
cabbage,
even
though
there
are
plenty
of
other
vegetables
in
the
garden”可以推断出这种白蝴蝶只吃卷心菜。
30.Certain
animals
change
their
choice
of
food
when
________.
A.the
season
changes
B.the
food
color
changes
C.they
move
to
different
places
D.they
are
attracted
by
different
smells
答案与解析:A 细节理解题。根据第二段“The
diet
of
these
animals
will
be
different
depending
on
the
season”可以推断出这些动物的食物随着季节而变化。
31.We
can
learn
from
the
last
paragraph
that
________.
A.food
is
chosen
for
a
good
reason
B.French
and
British
food
is
good
C.some
people
have
few
choices
of
food
D.some
people
care
little
about
healthy
diet
答案与解析:D 推理判断题。根据最后一段“We
often
eat
food
because
we
like
it
and
not
because
it
is
good
for
us”可知我们选择食物经常是因为喜欢而不是对身体有益,由此推断出有些人去选择不健康的食物。

答案与解析:
本文是一篇议论文。作者围绕“努力工作有益于身体健康”这一论点进行展开。
41.B 从文章的主题句Scientists
find
that
hard working
people
live
longer
than
average
men
and
women.分析,可得出“职业妇女比家庭主妇更健康”。A项为语法错误。
42.C 根据上一句进行逻辑推理,“没有工作的人比有工作的人身体差”。
43.A 从结构上分析,在宾语从句中又有一个时间状语从句。意为“研究表明当失业率上升1%,死亡率相应上升2%。”
44.A 动词短语意义的区别是完形填空的常考点,考生须平时注意积累。come
down
to“归结为”;equal
to“等于”;add
up
to
“合计”;amount
to“总共到;相当于”。
45.D 此题的干扰性较大,需从意义和结构两方面进行分析,A项“不填”似乎有可能,但从结构上推敲,显然不符“keep
sb.

adj.”结构;再从意义上分析,可排除B、C项。此题的意义为“使人们免遭孤独和寂寞”。
46.D 从下文…and
lonely
when
they
have
nothing
to
do进行逻辑推理,意义为“没事做的人会感到unhappy,
worried
and
lonely”。
47.A 从上下文逻辑上判断。“最快乐的人是那些大忙人。”
48.D 从下一句分析,意为“工作当作人与现实生活联系的桥梁”。
49.B 从意义上判断,“通过工作人们相互联系(接触)”。
50.A means“意味着”。
51.D 从意义上分析,A、C项不符合上下文的逻辑关系,B项过于严重,还达不到“死亡”的程度。
52.A 从文章的篇章结构上分析,上文讲述的是工作给人们带来的益处,下文还是讲述这方面的内容,属“递进”的关系,而不是“转折”的关系。所以选A。
53.B 从意义上判断,此题必须同前面的a
sense
of
fulfillment(充实感)意义相类似。所以选B项,意为“成就感”。
54.C 从下文的his
writing可判断出答案。
55.C 根据医生从事的工作性质可断定是“成功地为病人动手术”。
56.B “老师看到学生成长”,主要表示在知识、阅历上的长进。
57.D beyond
words“无法用语言表达”;in
a
word“简言之”;without
a
word
“二话没说”;at
a
word“反应迅速地,立即”。
58.A 从语法结构上分析,conclusion之后为一个同位语从句,根据同位语从句的特点,that不能省略,也不能用which和what。
59.D 从全文意义上分析,“工作越多,人就会越高兴、越健康”。而不是“越寂寞、越虚弱”。从句子结构上分析,此题含有一个“the
more...
,the
more...”句型。
60.A 从句子结构上判断,此句为三个谓语动词并列。同时注意修饰动词要用副词well,不能用形容词good。
