Teaching Aims:  
A. Aims on the knowledge  
a. To enable the students to understand and speak sentence:  
Spring is warm and nice.  
b. Make sure that students can use in real life.  
c. To help the students to understand, say and recognize the new words: spring, summer, autumn, winter.
B. Aims in the abilities:
a. To develop the students’ abilities of listening and speaking.  
b. To train the students’ abilities of working in groups.  
c. To foster the students’ abilities of communication and their innovation.  
C. Aims in the emotion  
To foster the students’ consciousness of good co-operation and proper competition.   
Key Points and Difficulties:  
A. To enable the students to study in group.  
B.To develop the students’ interest in English.  
Teaching Aids:  
CAI, pictures, tape, etc.  
Teaching Steps:  
Step 1. Warming up  
a. Greetings!  
b. Sing a song.  
c. Free talk  
Hello,What’s the weather like today (It’s warm..)  
What’s the weather like today ( It’s sunny.)  
OK! Spring is coming. It’s warm, it’s very comfortable, I’m very happy, are you happy Today we’ll learn Unit 8 Spring is warn and nice. Let’s look at CAI.  
Steps 2. Presentation  
A. CAI: Show some pictures : spring ,summer ,autumn ,winter. Do you know the four seasons in a year They are spring, summer ,autumn ,winter.  
a. Teaching the first season: spring  
Show CAI: The pictures about spring. (Hi,I’m spring,nice to meet you!)  
What season is the first season Look! It’s coming. CAI: “Hi,I’m spring,nice to meet you!”  
Let’s greet with it together. “Hello!spring.Nice to meet you,too.”  
The eight students stand for “spring”, They are Group Spring. Group Spring reads the word:spring↗,spring↘. Pay attention to the pronunciation of “ng”. Group Spring reads the word one by one.What’s the weather like in spring It’s warm. In spring the flowers open and the trees turn green. It’s very beautiful!(show CAI).I like spring, because I like flowers and grass.Do you like spring   
b. Teaching the second season: summer  
Show CAI: The pictures about summer.(Hello!I’m summer.)  
Can you tell me which season it is Summer. OK! Let’s greet with it. “Hello!summer”. The eight students are in group-Group Summer. Let’s read it: summer↗,summer↘. Please look at CAI. In summer the weather is very hot, the children are swimming in the river.Do you like summer   
c. Teaching the third season: autumn  
Show CAI: The pictures about autumn  
Which group wants to be Group Autumn OK! You eight students are Group Autumn.Can you greet with autumn “Hello!Autumn,nice to meet you!” What’s the weather like in autumn It’s cool. Autumn is cool.In autumn, the leaves turn yellow, Rice harvest, fruits mature,there are many fruits.e.g.orange.Do you like it I like it very much.Please look at my pictures.What are these They are oranges.There are many oranges in our hometown.It’s a golden season in autumn,so golden yellow symbols autumn.Do you like autumn   
c. Teaching the second season: winter  
Show CAI: The pictures about winter  
What season is the fourth season It’s very cold.(acting).It snows,it’s white,you can make a snow boy.But you must put on many clothes, or you’ll have a bad cold.Can you tell me what season it is OK,it’s winter.now the others students stand for winter,you’re Group Winter. Let’s read it together:winter,winter.  
Step 3. Practise  
Now,class,let’s chant,OK   
Spring,spring is warm,  
Summer,summer is hot,  
Autumn,autumn is cool,  
Winter,winter is cold.  
Step 4. Let’s guess  
What season is it (show CAI) The students look at many pictures of the four seasons, and speak out the name of the season quickly.  
Step 5. Let’s discuss.  
The students discuss in groups:  
a. What season do you like   
b. Why do you like the season   
Then a student acts a reporter, He asks the students the questions.  
Step 6. Let’s draw  
Draw the four seasons. Group Spring draws spring,Group Summer draws summer, Group Autumn draws autumn, Group Winter draws winter.  
Step 7. Let’s have fun  
The students sing and act.
