Teaching Procedures:
Step 1: Warming up1. Greetings. Step 2: Revision and Presentation 1.Free talk T: Oh, I left my English book in my office; can you lend your book to me If some students say yes, teacher says “you are a kind girl/boy.” And then teaching “kind”. I: CAI show picture of “Leifeng” and ask students “Who was he ”(write it on the blackboard) Help students to say “He was leifeng.” And then teacher says “He was a kind man.” II: show Maozedong’s picture to the students, ask the students “who was he” help the students to answer, and then tell the students “He was China’s hero and leader.” Teaching it.III: Show Einstein’s icon to the students T “Who was he ” Help the students to speak out and then tell them he was a scientist. Teaching the new words “Scientist.”IV: Ask the students to learn “a brave man” “a wise man” by themselves. And with the help of afford pictures. 3 .Listen to the tape ,and ask the students the question follow: Who was Norman Bethune He was a doctor and a hero in China.He was born in Canada; he came to China and saved many people’s lives.And then listen and repeat.Step 3: Practice and Consolidation1 Role play. Ask the students to act the dialogue in the text.2. Task.ask the students work in pair’s .finish activity1.E.g. What did he/she do Where did he/she live He was a brave man. He was a hero.3. Listen and match.Finish the excises of activity2 on page 23.Step 4: HomeworkAsk the students to make a survey about three people in the community. Who was he/she What did he/she do
