Step 1.Organizing the teaching
1.Greetings
2.Sing an English song
Step 2. Revision
1. Play “Spell it” to review some of the vocabulary the Ss will see in this lesson
especially “sandals” “fish” “duck” “lake” “river” and “bathtub”.
Step 3.Key concepts:
swim swimsuit swimming pool
1.Introduce:
Demonstrate the new vocabulary with the pictures and with a real swimsuit.
Act out “swimming” as the teacher say the verb.
2.Student book :
a.Ask the Ss what would happen next in the story in No.2 of the student book.
Would Jenny teach Danny to swim
b.Play the audiotape as the Ss follow along their books.
3.Practice:
Play “Simon says” with the word “swim” and other words
(walk, jump, point and run) clouding “play basketball” and “play ping-pong”.
六.Students’ activity:
1.Sing the English song.
2.Play “Spell it”.
3.Imitate the audiotape.
4.Play “Simon says”.
