Step1、Warm-up and lead in:
1.Greetings
T: Do you often lose things in your everyday life?
Ss:Yes.
T: Today I found a book outside our classroom.Whose book is this?Is this yours?
S1:No,it isn’t.

T:Yeah,it can’t be his. Whose is this?Now,have a look.
Ss:It must be Li Yi’s.
T:Why?
Ss:Because her name is on it.
T:Yes,it must be Li Yi’s.(We can also say it must belong to Li Yi.

Step2:presentation
show a group of pictures on the screen.First,learn together,talk about the pictures,learn to make inferences with must,could,might,can’t.make conversations,practice it between the teacher and the students,then read togther,next let them practice it in pairs.

Teaching reflection
In this lesson, I design lots of activities that are close to students’ everyday life in order to make them be interested in English.The contents are easy.But during the class,I was moved by zhangYan’s answer.when we matched one thing with one reason,she said the toy truck must belong to Jane’s little brother because he was the only little kid at the picnic. As a student from Grade 7,it is not easy to do it like that.Later on ,other students said the sentences like her.but there are some mistakes.So I should show the structure on the screen,they can imitate it correctly and they can’t make mistakes like this.They can use the right structureto make sentences.On the other hand,when I extended 1b and mentioned the environment they could not understand it well.So I should pay more attention to the little details in the class. At the same time,I should pay attention to strengthening the cultivation of?students' learning?ability and skills in the future teaching. The topic of this unit is a picnic, In this unit, students learn to how to make inferences.Such topic is helpful to activate students’ imagination and improve students’ ability to deduce. This lesson is the first period of Unit 8. It mainly tells how to teach the students to learn to make inferences with the modal verbs must ,can’t,could and might.At the same time ,it asks the students to use whose structure and the expression “belong to” correctly.The materials are connected with the students’everyday life closely.So they can be interested in the class easily.Through listening and oral practice, students have a brief understanding of how to make inferences.
