第三部分:阅读理解(共两节,满分30分)
第一节(共15小题,每小题1.5分,满分22.5分)
A
In
1977,
a
dead
author
of
detective
stories
saved
the
life
of
a
19-month-old
baby
in
a
most
unusual
way.
The
author
was
Agatha
Christie,
one
of
the
most
successful
writers
of
detective
stories
in
the
world.
In
June
1977,
a
baby
girl
became
seriously
ill
in
Qatar,
near
Saudi
Arabia.
Doctors
were
unable
to
find
out
the
cause
of
her
illness
with
confidence,
so
she
was
sent
to
Hammersmith
Hospital
in
London.
She
was
then
only
semi-conscious
and
on
the
"Dangerously
lee"
list.
A
team
of
doctors
hurried
to
examine
the
baby
only
to
discover
that
they,
too,
didn't
know.
While
they
were
discussing
the
baby's
case,
a
nurse
asked
to
speak
to
them.
"Excuse
me,"
said
Nurse
Marsha,
"but
I
think
the
baby
is
suffering
from
thallium
poisoning."
"What
makes
you
think
that "
Dr.
Brown
asked.
"Thallium
poisoning
is
rare."
"A
few
days
ago,
I
was
reading
a
novel
called
'A
Pale
Horse'
by
Agatha
Christie,"
Nurse
Maitland
explained.
"In
the
book,
somebody
uses
thallium
poison,
and
the
symptoms
are
described.
They're
exactly
the
same
as
the
baby's."
"You're
very
thoughtful
and
you
may
be
right,"
another
doctor
said,
"We'll
carry
out
some
tests
and
find
out
whether
it's
thallium
or
not."
Tests
showed
that
the
baby
had
been
poisoned
by
thallium,
a
rare
metallic
substance
used
in
making
special
glass.
Once
they
knew
the
cause
of
the
illness,
the
doctors
were
able
to
give
the
baby
the
correct
treatment.
She
soon
recovered
and
was
sent
back
to
Qatar.
Later
it
was
reported
that
the
poison
might
have
come
from
an
insecticide
used
in
Qatar.
51.
The
one
who
first
suggested
the
correct
cause
of
the
baby's
illness
was
_________.
A.
a
doctor
in
Qatar
B.
Nurse
Maitland
C.
Dr.
Brown
D.
Agatha
Christie
52.
As
far
as
we
can
tell
from
the
passage,
Agatha
Christie
_________.
A.
had
never
met
this
baby
B.
had
spent
a
long
time
studying
the
baby's
case
C.
visited
the
baby
in
the
hospital
D.
gave
Nurse
Maitland
some
advice
on
the
phone
53.
It
seems
from
the
passage
that
the
baby's
illness
had
something
to
do
with
________.
A.
a
dangerous
pair
of
glasses
B.
the
water
in
Qatar
C.
a
harmful
substance
used
to
kill
insects
D.
a
dead
writer
B
Women
make
better
drivers
than
men
for
many
reasons.
Why
is
that
If
you
ask
me,
I’d
like
to
say,
men
know
that
women
are
better
drivers
but
do
not
have
the
courage
to
admit
the
truth—women
are
queens
of
the
road.
Unlike
men,
women
stop
for
directions
when
they
have
no
idea
as
to
where
they
are
going.
We
don’t
drive
around
for
hours
pointlessly
wasting
a
tank
of
gas
only
to
find
ourselves
heading
in
the
wrong
direction.
Have
you
ever
been
in
a
car
with
a
man
who
is
lost
He
tells
you
to
shut
up
when
you
begin
to
open
your
mouth.
And
every
five
minutes
or
so
he
takes
a
turn
going
forty-five
miles
per
hour
only
to
find
out
he’s
made
another
wrong
turn.
Speeding
is
what
men
do
best
on
the
road.
There
is
a
reason
why
men
get
more
speeding
tickets
than
women.
Not
because
we
trick
to
get
out
of
tickets
but
only
because
we
don’t
get
pulled
over
as
frequently.
We
don’t
speed.
We
have
more
intelligence
than
senselessly
to
put
our
own
lives
as
well
as
the
lives
of
others
in
danger.
My
largest
issue
with
male
drivers
is
how
a
majority
of
them
drive
with
one
hand
on
the
wheel
and
the
other
hand
doing
only
God
knows
what.
The
seat
is
backed
as
far
as
possible,
and
they’re
totally
lost
into
loud
music
beyond
a
necessary
level.
You
don’t
ever
see
women
driving
like
that.
I
feel
that
the
above
evidence
more
than
proves
my
points
that
women
are
not
only
better
drivers
but
also
safer
drivers
than
men.
We
women
rule
the
road.
Oh,
and
men,
if
you
want
to
continue
criticizing
(批评)
women
for
being
bad
drivers,
bring
it
on.
54.
If
a
woman
driver
feels
lost,
she
will
__________.
A.
tell
the
man
next
to
her
to
shut
up
B.
take
the
wrong
turns
at
a
high
speed
C.
stop
the
car
and
ask
people
for
help
D.
drive
aimlessly
for
hours
without
stopping

Paragraph

the
writer
tries

us
that

A.
women
drivers
often
play
tricks
on
the
police
in
charge
B.
men
drivers
usually
have
to
be
pulled
over
to
the
roadsides
C.
men
drivers
are
more
confident
and
skillful
in
driving
D.
women
drivers
have
more
responsibility
for
lives
56.
According
to
the
passage,
men
drivers
__________
worries
the
writer
most.
A.
not
paying
full
attention
B.
making
jokes
about
women
C.
not
stopping
for
directions
D.

For
more
than
twenty
years
scientists
have
been
searching
for
signs
of
life
on
other
planets.
Most
of
these
searches
have
been
done
over
the
radio.
The
hope
is
that
someone
in
outer
space
may
be
trying
to

us.
Scientists
also

on
spaceships

someone

In

they

Using
a

they
will

eight

at

Scientists

Of

galaxy,
most
scientists
agree
that
chances
are
likely
that
one
or
more
of
these
planets
support
some
life.
However,
many
scientists
wonder
whether
intelligent
(有智力的)
life
exists
on
other
planets.
Some
believe
that
twenty
years
of
searching
without
any
intelligible
(可理解的)
messages
shows
that
no
one
is
out
there.
They
say
that
the
evolution
of
intelligence
comparable
to
ours
is
unlikely.
Other
scientists
believe
that
our
search
hasn’t
been
long
enough
to
rule
out
the
possibility
that
intelligent
life
exists
in
our
galaxy.
Although
our
sun
family
in
only
about
five
billion
years
old,
our
galaxy
is
about
20
billions
years
old.
In
that
time,
some
scientists
think
it
is
likely
that
civilizations
are
much
more
advanced
than
ours.
Perhaps
these
civilizations
(文明)
send
us
no
signals;
perhaps
we
have
not
recognized
the
signals
they
have
sent
us.
If
we
hope
to
find
intelligent
life,
these
scientists
believe
that
we
have
to
keep
looking.

"If
music
is
the
medicine
of
the
soul(灵魂),
let
it
play
on,"
said
a
famous
person.
I
think
he
said
so
because
probably
he
got
some
help
from
music.
Music
has
some
strange
abilities.
Medical
scientists
have
found
that
a
person
that
feels
stressed
can
actually
listen
to
some
kind
of
music
and
become
well.
The
researchers
said
that
since
stress
comes
as
a
result
of
life
events
such
as
starting
a
new
family,
starting
a
new
business,
and
starting
a
new
job,
one
can
actually
listen
to
good
music
and
feel
good
because
good
music
touches
the
human
mind
in
a
positive
way.
Music
helps
you
to
forget
the
life
events
that
make
you
worried
and
remember
the
important
events
that
once
happened
in
your
life.Depression(抑郁)
is
a
disease
caused
by
stress,
smoking,
social
problems
and
so
on.
Depression
is
also
caused
by
problems
such
as
failure
in
business.
Depression
may
bring
us
weakness,
headache,
and
loss
of
concentration.
Good
music
makes
one
remember
happy
moments
or
good
days.
If
you
play
music
about
love,
it
makes
you
feel
like
falling
in
love
again
though
you
may
have
had
several
upset
experiences.
And
such
good
feelings
make
you
healthy.
Anxiety(焦虑)
is
another
health
problem
that
can
be
controlled
by
music.
Anxiety
is
a
side
effect
of
some
major
health
problems
such
as
cancer
of
the
liver
and
cancer
of
the
breast.
Good
music
makes
you
feel
relaxed
and
removes
the
pains
from
these
diseases
and
you
feel
all
right.
Good
music
can
send
you
to
sleep.
And
you
need
to
know
that
sleep
puts
your
body
in
a
healthy
condition.
Sleep
takes
away
the
effects
of
stress,
depression
and
anxiety
from
a
person.

Tips
For
Us
to
Live
a
Healthy
And
Comfortable
Life
第二节
根据短文内容从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。(每小题1.5分,共7.5分)
Most
of
us
lead
a
busy
life.
66
We
think,
“If
I
reached
my
goal,
then
I
would
be
happy”,
or
“If
I
could
get
a
better
job,
then
I
would
enjoy
life.”
But
why
not
enjoy
life
right
now
Firstly,
take
time
to
notice
and
appreciate
the
beauty
in
your
own
surroundings.
67
“There
is
a
great
big
world
of
wonder
and
beauty
around
us!”
And
as
Brodersen
explains,
“Look
for
the
beauty
of
the
sunrise
and
of
a
friend’s
smile
that
brightens
your
day.
Open
your
eyes
to
see
the
beauty
you
might
not
normally
see.
Doing
so
helps
to
cheer
you
up.”
Secondly,
taking
time
to
experience
some
simple
pleasures
also
can
bring
joy
to
your
heart
and
ease
your
stress.
Take
me
for
example.
68
One
universal
simple
pleasure
is
finding
things
that
make
you
laugh.
Make
time
to
laugh
every
day.
Thirdly,
don’t
take
your
family
and
friends
for
granted.
Rich,
rewarding
relationships
add
greatly
to
the
enjoyment
of
life.
When
you
think
of
someone,
why
not
call,
e-mail
or
write
them
69
.
As
Wayne
Lawton
explains,
“Invest
time
in
relationships.
Remove
the
attitude,
what’s
in
it
for
me
Happiness
is
found
in
putting
other’s
interests,
desires
and
concerns
ahead
of
our
own
whenever
possible.
Selfishness
is
a
dead-end
street.”
70
A.
Be
aware
of
beauty
in
nature.
B.
So
please
treasure
relationship.
C.
You
don’t
need
to
travel
far
to
find
beauty.
D.
Driven
by
the
“urgent”,
we
forget
to
enjoy
life.
E.
In
my
spare
time,
I
enjoy
collecting
stamps
and
reading
novels.
F.
A
short
e-mail
or
phone
call
can
make
a
world
of
difference
to
someone.
G.
I
delight
in
simple
things
like
my
favorite
tea
drink,
a
bubble
bath
or
family
photos.

书面表达:
Hello
everyone!
I’m
Li
Hua
and
I’m
very
honored
to
stand
here
to
give
you
a
speech.
To
begin
with,
we
should
adopt
a
positive
attitude
to
life.
Life
is
made
up
of
not
only
sunshine
but
also
hard
times.
We
should
be
brave
in
front
of
difficulties.
Moreover,
we
must
study
hard
because
knowledge
is
power.
If
we
have
the
power,
we
can
help
to
build
our
country
and
enjoy
life
better.
In
order
to
study
well,
we
need
to
do
sports
so
that
we
can
keep
fit.
We
can
go
running,
play
ball
games
or
simply
take
a
walk
after
a
day’s
study.
In
short,
I’m
convinced
that
if
we
do
those
things
well,
we
will
be
able
to
grow
up
happily
and
healthily.
