Step 1.Organizing the teaching
1.Greetings
2.Sing an English song.
Step 2. Revision
Play “Santa” to review vocabulary of this unit.
Step 3.Key concepts:
This lesson reviews regular and irregular past tense verbs.
1.Student book :
Play the audiotape as the Ss follow along their books.
2.Practice:
a.Practice the verb tenses with a chart.
Write “yesterday” “today” and “tomorrow” across the top of the BB.
Ask the Ss to call out words from the lesson in the student book that end in “ed”.

b.Divide the class into pairs.
Each student draws a picture of something that happened during Li Ming’s visit to Canada. They label as much of their pictures as they can in English.
They then take turns describing their pictures to their parents, partners.
c. Play the audiotape of the song “Re River Valley” song in No. 2 as the student follow in their books.

1.Daily dialogue with each other.

5.Pairwork to practice the dialogue with pictures.
